[FairfieldLife] Re: Ganapati Sthapati dead

2012-08-05 Thread Dr. Jessie
We will be approaching the anniversary of the death of my teacher of Vaastu
Shastras next month- Dr. V. Ganapati Sthapati. Each January I would visit
Sthapati in Chennai and study with him. Without fail later in the month I
would walk into his office and he would be speaking on the phone with Maharishi
who had just called Sthapati the moment before I walked in. It was uncanny.
Even nearing the last year of his life Maharishi would call him. It was really
wonderful to listen to these two men speak together. They both had the same
goal: the well being of humanity.

Sthapati's family is one of the oldest living families who have passed down
Vaastu Shastras in its purity for several thousand years.

I miss Sthapati and Maharishi. Two of the greatest beings of our times.

Thanks for making the below post last year.

He was given the highest honor from Maharishi as the greatest living

differ in some respects. Here is an interview in which he credits Vaastu
with prolonging his life beyond what was predicted by Jyotish.

[FairfieldLife] Re: Non-dual meditation!

2012-04-14 Thread Dr. Jessie
It is always interesting to me when individuals hijack someone elses work and
then don't give them credit. This so called non-dual meditation is a hijacked
form of Jacobsons Relaxation Technique. We used it in 1970's at the Institue
for Living in Hartford when we compared TM with other methods - I worked on
that project (you old timers might remember Dr. Bernard Gluck's NIMH grant).
So, the individual with the Indian voice (if you have an indian accent surely
you are special and spiritual) has simply taken Jacobson progressive muscle
relaxation technique and added a little OM to it and labled it as being Non
dual meditation. When will it stop? When will people stop hijacking knowledge
(like the vaastu shastras for example, ayurveda, ghandarva music), putting
their own spin on it and claiming it as their own?

  Whoa! That's way cool! :D

Yes, interesting exercise creating a secular unattached meditation
instructional video. It was fine until all that non-dual talk 'who is this
who is that...' in-the-head posing questions stuff in the middle. TMI at
that point being too wordy once there whilst just getting to sitting with it.
Too much of that talk engaging a mind could be dangerous for beginners
giving them headaches in jump-starting and then straining their underlying
 chakras. It could be dangerous.
