Who cares? His followers and those like him have created an industry based on
blaming others. More a mindset that anything else. They now have a choice, to
grow up and take responsibility, or continue living in infantile delusion.
"Wah, Mommy is in charge, and she won't let me say naughty words and hurt
other kids. Wah!!"

It is not possible to appeal to reason, to change the minds of misogynists and
racists, so you just let them be, while continuing to remove any means through
which they can express their discrimination. In other words, treat them like
children. Enough negative reinforcement and they may evolve.

It has been a healthy thing for this country to confront racial attitudes
directly by having a black president. The same challenge is about to occur with
a woman at the helm.

But what happens to a country partially populated by hate-mongers and half

category. Where are they going to find their outlet for discrimination,
fear-based reaction and gullibility?

It must be agony for poor Trump to keep hearing that he lost the debate. He
lost, he lost, he lost, he's a LOSER. He has to fend that off somehow in his
mind. It's a real blow psychologically.

Yup. And my call is that he is going to come out swinging in the next debate,
however random and incoherent it might come across. On the other hand, given
the town hall format of the next debate it might be even more awkward to do so.

Trump rigged the debate with his arrogance, ignorance, and lack of prep. Trump
wants to be president about as much as he wants to do 10 push ups in a row, or
limit himself to ONE bucket of fried chicken for breakfast. Never going to
happen.

Some people say the best drum solos are by Buddy Rich or
Gene Krupa. The greatest rock drum solo was probably Ginger
Baker on 'Toad'.

My vote would be Ginger Baker on 'Do What You Like' - using
the wood beaters on a 5/4 solo on the end of the studio
version.

But, check out the Baker live performance with Blind Faith
(at 2:59) and the live Baker performance at Royal Albert
Hall, January 1970 (at 4:23). Go figure.

Drums solos are mostly bullshit anyway. You just play stuff the
audience wants to see not necessarily hear. It's mainly
drumnastics or a gymnastic approach to drumming. It would be
interesting to hear what this drummer would play if he wasn't concerned
 about impressing the audience.

I think audiences appreciate it as a reprieve from the even more dreaded bass
solo.

Rat Scabies, the drummer with The Damned, used to set fire to
his kit and try and beat the flames out, with varying degrees
of success. That's gotta be a first.

The last live bass soloist I saw was Victor Wooten and no dread there
(he might have been wearing dreadnoughts though).

Do you mean dreadlocks? Yeah, I love bass too, just an old joke.

Here is a nice example of turning the joke upside down:

Yeah, dreadlocks though I thought I'd also heard them referred to as
dreadnoughts. Maybe that was a joke too. And working a gig with Gary
Peacock rather spoiled me.
