No! Karunamayi and the Hugging Saint are not Neo-Advaitins Used in a
pejorative sense as I use the expression "Neo-Advaita"; kindly refer to the
post below alluding to http://www.enlightened-spirituality.org/neo-advaita.html
...
Rather than attempting to precisely define the term, the many examples given in
the website provide a generous list of Neo-Advaitic attributes; clearly
separating the wheat from the chaff: who is and who is not.
...
The grand-pappy of most of them would have to be Papaji. But this is tricky.
One can be a true Advaitin (as I believe Papaji was); but also a Neo-Advaitin
used in the pejorative sense; implying that Papaji and his many disciple are
grossly offensive in abusing "true" Advaitic principles via indulging in the
many Neo-Advaitic practices listed in the website. In other words,
Self-Realized but a lousey teacher.
...
So, you ask: are Karunamayi and the Hugging Saint Neo-Advaitins?
No...definitely not. They are true Advaitins. Some Neo- Advaitins are Gangaji,
Cohen, etc; and the Papa of them all: Papaji (HWL Poonja). A quick google
search can easily bring up dozens of them in one minute since all are linked
together.
...
And I've read most of Godman's books, including the 3 volume biographical set
on HWL Poonja.
