I also didn't know him well, but we hung out in the same circle of friends in
recent years, and I considered him a friend. He used to make some cash by
giving people rides to airports, etc., and a few years ago, I had him drive me
to Ottumwa to pick up my new car (well, new to me... a rebuilt, salvage title
2003 Pontiac Vibe.) I wish I could say that we had the most profound
conversation to end all conversations, but I honestly have zero recollection of
anything we spoke about. I had a little chat with him after his talk at Revs,
and that was the last time I saw him alive.

LB had many admirers.
I remember vividly from the last time I saw him, probably in the early '90s.
Passing by me in some crowded place in Fairfield, he gave me his unique grin,
the almost imperceptible lifting of one side of his mouth and full gaze that
said so much while saying so little.
I feel like he was a friend, though I never knew him well.

Ha ha! Good to see you're alive and well incarnated as Dr. Dumbass! I
decided to sign-up again because of some masochistic samskara that has
become lively. I also wanted to see what people had to say about LB. Not
many seem to have known him. Quite the character.
