Yes, companies have always brought in younger talent BUT they didn't 
give them the run of the ship. There were these creatures called "middle 
managers" who babysat them until the training wheels came off.


OTOH, you are taking a position, being against the privatization of 
NASA, many libertarians and conservatives would not like. ;-)

Maybe the rocket blew up because Orbital Sciences thought the young 
engineers brought more to the table than experienced ones.  At least 
that the kind of thinking we get out of Silly Conned Valley entrepreneurs.


I was surprised Orbital Sciences is still around.  I invested in them 
in the late 1990s and lost money after a scandal was revealed.  I 
figured if space travel wasn't the future then there was no future.  I 
think one needs gambler's luck to win at the stock market though.  I 
never invested again.


And once again, Presidents are nothing but car salesmen for the same 
car company.
