Nah, it's more than that. Hitting the thumb with a hammer and reacting is Edg's meat robot reacting. It's a body/mind thing, not the ego per se. Everyone agrees that when we hit a thumb with a hammer we yell, that physical sensation exists after brahman consciousness. The argument is whether there's an individual me that is pure spirit, beyond the body, yet a distinct entity or essence within the universal self. I say there is. Most gurus say there is not.
