[FairfieldLife] !Let Us Gird on our Spiritual Armor and Fight!
Jai Guru Dev, let us fight for reason in a world where science and progress will lead to happiness... The modern science is om so quite clear now, that everyone should have the time and the resources for adequate enough quiet time and effective transcendent meditation everyday, twice a day and more. Let us hasten the day when this will be, it cannot happen fast enough. We must have a new spiritual standard of living that is ultimately spiritual and scientific. Let us all fight for that now. We who know must act for everyone. Let us join in effective meditation together, -Buck in the Dome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WibmcsEGLKo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WibmcsEGLKo
[FairfieldLife] Let us, quot;Give Peace a Chancequot;
Friends; Check your old internal software with its bits and old fragmented love, tough broken bits of love fragmented in it. Time now for a defrag of the old testaments. A new download of love is available, an update of love, as a newer testament borne even of modern science in our experience. A lot more meditation is being called for as mediation in the world now. We know so much more. A new download is happening even now. The new download is freely available like receiving a free grace. You just have to ask for it. It is time to come to meditation. It is timely for a new love of regeneration. All we are saying is, Give Peace a Chance. Take the time to make the time to join in groups meditating to mediate peace in the world everywhere. Science says, Come to Meditation. -Buck, in the Dome Updating love, the descent of old Christmas love can't come fast enough to that area. Love needs to be updated fast in that whole East China Sea region right now. People everywhere should come to meditation now. Tonite. Tomorrow morning. That whole region needs a major download of love as a vector of shakti from the Unified Field right now. Sincerely, -Buck I am feeling Bush II was quite right in his way, we got the vibration of an axis of evil going there. Very un-spiritual in excitation. Not much love at all. This is coming a time where people now who know better should come back to meditation around this. -Buck in the Dome “States like these, and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world. By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger. They could provide these arms to terrorists, giving them the means to match their hatred. They could attack our allies or attempt to blackmail the United States. In any of these cases, the price of indifference would be catastrophic.” -President Bush II North Korea announced on Thursday that it had executed Chang Song-thaek, the uncle of leader Kim Jong-un, for acts of treachery. The move has raised concerns of instability in the secretive and repressive nuclear-armed country. A Platform for World Peace-making: “One of the now disputed areas is a submerged rock on which a South Korean maritime research base is perched” http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-25288268 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-25288268 Come to a group Mediation Meditation for Peace near you. Join with the widespread deployment of groups in meditation near you for peace now. -Buck in the Dome With reference to DEFENCE, Heaven on Earth will be characterized by 'victory before war' -lack of the need to prepare for defense, because everything and everyone will be on the path of evolution, and as a result, coherence in every country will be so strong that invincibility will be a natural feature of national life -no negativity will arise, and no enemy will be born for any nation. Let's hear it for Heaven On Earth. I know it's difficult in our times to conceive of a world so perfect that negativity and violence and war cannot arise. That's why we look to the holy scriptures for inspiration, because they portray life as it was in more pure, more holy times. So go read your Bhagavad-Gita for a glimpse of such no violence can arise times. Ignore the part about it all taking place on a battlefield during a war, and the personification of God telling the lead character to go out and waste as many of his fellow human beings as possible, and that that's his dharma. :-)
RE: Re: [FairfieldLife] Let#39;s see if this works
FWIW, so far I've posted links to two YouTube videos via the FFL Web site. All I did was post the URLs. The first one appeared with the video itself so you could play it on the Web site. I thought that was pretty neat, possibly the one improvement over the Classic interface. The next one I posted a couple days later, and all that appeared was the link. I didn't do anything different, so I have no idea why one post included the video and the other didn't. A few days ago a couple people posted YouTube links that appeared with three identical viewable videos per link. Neo is like a box of chocolates--you never know what you're going to get. ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, noozguru@... wrote: On 11/07/2013 07:12 PM, Bhairitu wrote: Three big pigs: Interesting, this worked with email but not on the web site. Looking at the old site the Rich Text editor says you can use HTML including embedded images but they need the width and height variables in the HTML for the image to be displayed so I'll add that to my converter. The repeat of the other email was a Yahoo burp because I first posted it before 3 PM but it didn't show up so I posted it again later. Enjoy the video. I hope to figure out how to trick a link to embed the video as some do show that way like the Chopra interview.
Re: [FairfieldLife] Let#39;s see if this works
There seems to be no rhyme nor reason why some YouTube links work and others don't. Your NBA videos worked but not the Slow Blues. I was thinking that maybe some of the folks linked via Share but I haven't explored that option yet on YouTube (which is always changing their interface). And according to the header Rick posted the Fairfield video which displays in the email from Outlook. Maybe they spin the YouTube gerbil and if it lands on the right number your video gets displayed. Edg's post of the Chopra video was redisplayed in my reply which came from Thunderbird. Like Willy would say: Go Figure. damn good song, here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zOv2O4TB5c Take you to the cinema And leave you in a Wimpy Bar -- You tell me that we've gone to far -- Come running up to me. Make the scene at Cousin Jack's -- Leave him put the bottles back -- Mends his glasses that I cracked -- Well that one's up to me. Buy a silver cloud to ride -- Pack the tennis club inside -- Trouser cuffs hung far too wide -- Well it was up to me. Tyres down on your bicicle -- Your nose feels like an icicle -- The yellow fingered smoky girl Is looking up to me. Well I'm a common working man With a half of bitter -- bread and jam And if it pleases me I'll put one on you man -- When the copper fades away. The rainy season comes to pass -- The day-glo pirate sinks at last -- And if I laughed a bit to fast. Well it was up to me.

Don't waste time being angry at greed-ridden corporate guys and lying-through-the teeth politicians. Look into people's eyes. They are your eyes. They are beautiful. They are smiling. Let's go! Yoko Ono Hiroshima Day, 6 August 2012 http://tinyurl.com/9a3qcyk http://tinyurl.com/9a3qcyk A grandson of ex-U.S. President Harry Truman, who ordered the atomic bombings of Japan during World War II, is in Hiroshima to attend a memorial service for the victims. Read it on Global News: Global News | Grandson of ex-President Truman visits Hiroshima to attend memorial service of A-bomb victims Nuclear energy and humankind cannot co-exist. Reasonable-sounding arguments can be made to justify the original development of an atomic bomb (ensuring victory against fascism), and for the maintenance of a nuclear arsenal (lest the United States fall prey to a hostile country or group with its own nuclear weapons). The nuclear age, however, is a suicidal age. We've had several near misses, the Cuban Missile Crisis being the most obvious. And we've almost had accidental nuclear war when our radar systems (and Russia's) have thought they were seeing incoming nuclear weapons and have prepared to launch nuclear weapons in response. At some point, we won't be able to avert the catastrophe. Similarly, nuclear power plants may seem to provide part of the solution to our energy crisis. http://tinyurl.com/c5m4vng http://tinyurl.com/c5m4vng

[FairfieldLife] Let It Burn
Let It Burn http://www.balloon-juice.com/2011/07/04/let-it-burn-3/ by John Cole Meanwhile, in Minnesota: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/03/us/03minnesota.html?ref=politics With no sign of a budget deal in sight, Minnesota awoke on Saturday to Day 2 of a state government shutdown, and, if anything, more confusion not moreclarity about how one actually carries out this sort of thing. Consider these nuanced rules: the state's Department of Revenue says it still expects people to pay their taxes, but it will not be sending out refunds. Residents may renew their driver's licenses in certain locations, but no actual driver's exams will be offered. The Minnesota Zoo is closed to visitors, but a Music in the Zoo concert series, including a performance on Saturday evening by The Monkees, of 1960s fame, was to proceed (though no non-human animals were to be on display). Any questions? If so, you may not wish to call the state in search of clarity. Some closed Minnesota departments are, of course, not there to answer the phones. Or their email. Or to update their Websites; many departments, in fact, redirected Web visitors to BeReadyMn.com for a rundown of the state's contingency plans and a sense of which services, deemed critical, have gone right on. And so, as Minnesota's politicians, whose clash over how to fix the state's deficit led to a shutdown that began Friday, took what some described as a cooling-off period with no further negotiations this weekend, Minnesotans were left to navigate what it really meant to close a state a scenario rarely undertaken in the nation and, it seemed by Saturday, one with few sure, simple rules. I'm increasingly of the opinion that we need to give the wingnuts what they want. Shut it all down. No police. No firemen. No National Guard. Just let the god damned state burn. I am so fed up with these fanatics and lunatics, I just want them to get a good solid dose of what they really want. I'm tired of protecting them from themselves. And I'm tired of the underclass of very poor wingnuts who make no money, rely on the state and the feds, but vote for these nutjobs because the baby jeebus tells them to. Maybe a couple months without the services they need to survive will knock some sense into them. http://www.balloon-juice.com/2011/07/04/let-it-burn-3/ http://www.balloon-juice.com/2011/07/04/let-it-burn-3/

[FairfieldLife] 'Let Freedom Ring!'
'Huffington Post: Gangaji...The Call to Freedom' July 7th, 2009 I recently visited the lively, beautiful city of Berlin. It was my first visit, and I brought with the visit what the word Berlin has meant to me. In my mind Berlin is a city that has lived at the center of extremes. In the 1930's it was a pleasure capital of hedonistic fulfillment. In the 1940's, it was the center of Hitler and his Nazi followers' diabolic implementation of the Third Reich's new world order. In the 1950's and 60's it was a main focal point of the cold war standoffs between Russia and the allies of the United States, filled with John le Carre' intrigues. And finally, in 1989, when the odious concrete wall separating East and West Berlin began to be demolished, it became the proof of freedom's ultimate uncontainability. A symbolic city in our collective history, and a strong myth in my own mind. As Eli and I walked through the city, with its many beautiful trees and remaining elegant pre-war buildings, we noticed there were still places where the Wall has remained in place-perhaps as a reminder of history. It is a reminder of Berlin's history of course, and also of the history of all countries and all individuals. There is within us a dynamic call to freedom. It demands expansiveness of mind and spirit so that we can discover what is not bound by concepts formed in the past. It allows creative exploration past our mental borders. And while political and social freedom is to be firmly supported everywhere, the freedom of our own spirit is not limited by external repression. The spirit of inquiry and discovery is silent and has no form that can be externally subjected to regulation or containment. Yet the forces we see at play in the world of history are also at play in the thought processes of our own minds. The uproar in Iran confirms both the strength of the universal call to freedom as well as the repressive forces unleashed when that call threatens the status quo. There is a status quo in our own minds as well as in the governments of the world. Freedom's call is usually initially met by our own mental tendencies of repressive containment. We may be called to freedom in the deepest sense, and yet resist that call by our own mental internal guards and censors. Our fear of the unknown can harness our creative, free impulse to soar. We build imaginary walls of separation to try to control what is allowed in or out, and then we cry out against those walls. We too often substitute doubt for true questioning, and then suffer from self-doubt. We decide what we should feel or think, rather than simply discovering what we are feeling and thinking. We search for people to love us rather than exercising our freedom to love boundlessly. We try to be who we think we should be rather than discovering who we really are. With willingness to see our repressive tendencies, we also can recognize that no wall-concrete or imaginary-can finally keep the thrust for freedom at bay. We can choose to ignore the loops of thought that try to keep us definable and small. When we refuse to continue to follow the dictates of constraining thoughts, we have the attention necessary to directly meet fear. In meeting fear directly, we discover it to have no real substance. We have the capacity to open our minds to the unknown. An open mind is free. And we can see that freedom of body, mind, and spirit requires vigilance. The force that builds walls of separation, within our own minds or towards others, requires particular types of thoughts - thoughts of control, protection, and punishment. When we allow the cry of freedom to arise within us, it penetrates all thought in its promise and revelation of limitless spaciousness of mind. Ultimately the Berlin Wall was brought down by its builders and maintainers by their recognition that it was destructive to the people. It was demolished peacefully; a time of celebration. No war was necessary, no lives were lost. Likewise in our own minds, no war with ourselves is necessary to stop our repressive thoughts. When we tell the truth to ourselves, we see that our walls of protection, containment, and punishment do not serve us. If we open to all of ourselves, rather than partition off the good parts and the bad parts, we discover the open mind which is integral, free and whole. It took some time for the concrete wall of Berlin to be breached; how much time does it take for an imaginary mental wall to fall? [FairfieldLife] Let Women Wear Hijab: Obama's Empty Cairo Speech
I know many will gush over President Obama's Cairo speech and I'm likely swimming against the tide of the media and my fellow Democrats and progressives. But reading the transcript, I was struck by two things: 1. Aside from a few platitudes, it is disappointingly weak on human rights and specifically women's rights. 2. It betrays a naiveté, perhaps feigned, about how the Arab world works... With women being stoned, raped, abused, battered, mutilated, and slaughtered on a daily basis across the globe, violence that is so often perpetrated in the name of religion, the most our president can speak about is protecting their right to wear the hijab? I would have been much more heartened if the preponderance of the speech had been about how in the 21st century, we CANNOT tolerate the pervasive abuse of our mothers and sisters and daughters. [FairfieldLife] Let the other nations pitch in
I keep hearing in the MSM over and over again how this economic crisis will affect economies and markets all over the world if WE don't do something. Well, if that's the case, let THEM pitch in and send US the $700 billion! The United States is ALWAYS there to bail out other nations so now they can dig deep into THEIR pockets and come up with some scratch.
[FairfieldLife] 'Let the Markets Fall'
I don't see why we don't just let the markets fall. This will just give people, especially young people to be able to purchase real estate, that was going through the roof, and well beyond the next generation's ability to purchase any real estate. Why are we so concerned about bailing out the Bush administration who has bankrupted this country. They didn't seem to care, when they were sending people to die in a war that wasn't necessary. They didn't seem to care when the were cleaning up in the oil markets. They didn't seem to care when jobs were lost and illegal immigrants were taking jobs. They don't seem to care if people get medical treatment. They don't seem to care if our infrastrucure is falling apart. They've created a Billion dollar black market and pumped up the prison system, with more people in prison, for non-violent crimes, it's become a big industry. They spent Billions in Iraq, and still are...the same 700 Billion they are asking for now, they already spent this much in Iraq, and for what? They have been drunk on power and greed, and now that they've bankrupted the whole system, the come begging. Let them deal with the bad karma, it's their bad karma, not mine, not yours. Let the bastards go down. R.G.

[FairfieldLife] Let us kill all the teddy bears
Let us kill all the teddy bears Note to radical Muslims: I've now named my favorite coffee mug 'Muhammad.' Hope that helps By Mark Morford, SF Gate Columnist Wednesday, December 5, 2007 Here's what I like to do every time I see a throng of frothing religious zombies marching in the streets of Sudan or Pakistan or Colorado Springs or anywhere else in the world, carrying knives and torches and holding festering clots of fear in their hearts as they burn flags or photographs or copies of The Goblet of Fire or The Golden Compass or that sweet little book about the cute gay penguins in the Central Park Zoo and all screaming for the instant death of someone who dared to suggest that, say, Jesus was actually a liberal pacifist or that L. Ron Hubbard was a nutball hack or that it's perfectly delightful to let sweet little schoolkids name a sweet little teddy bear 'Muhammad.' I try to remember. No wait, that's not quite right. First, I get past the wave of nausea and sadness, that hot, palpable feeling that we are, still and forever, a baffled and insane and deeply doomed species and the world of man is indeed bleak and hopeless on far too many levels to count. Yes. Must get past that. Then I remember. I remember the remaining 1.2 billion Muslims of the world who are also reading about the Great Teddy Bear Blasphemy of 2007 and going oh holy hell no, please, Allah no, not this again, not these inbred fundamentalist jackals making us all look so horribly bad, and why does the media insist on showing such a harsh, fragmented picture of a generally peaceful (albeit overly militant) faith and is there really nothing we can do? I remember how difficult it must be in this, the age of instant and global and yet often wrongheaded media coverage, for the average true believer of any of the world's giant, confused religions to stay focused and faithful and full of piety, considering the increasing number of mindless zealots who so effortlessly poison their spiritual well. [FairfieldLife] Let God's will be done...but at someone else's expense...
Just musings here, occasioned by receiving an update blog from an old friend. As I remember, some here may know him, because he was a TM teacher, and then later he got into the Rama thing, and then after that a succession of gurus and teachers. Gurus and teachers are really his *thing*; it's like he has an abso- lute inability to go more than a month or two without one in his life...at least he *hasn't* gone more than a month or two without one in his life for as long as I've known him. And I really love the dude. Dakota (not his real name but the one I used in my Road Trip Mind stories) is *lovable*. He's just enthus- iasm incarnate. And the nature of his sadhana -- and the fact that it *succeeds* -- actually is kinda inspiring. Dakota gets away with shit that few of the rest of us get away with. Like not working for a living. To the best of my knowledge, Dakota has not had a real job (working a 9-to-5 job somewhere, or working outside the healing arts or spiritual world) since the early 80s. He says that working in an office or for other people is too constrict- ing for him, and gets in the way of his spirit- ual progress. So he tries the occasional business venture, but mainly he survives because his friends pay for his life. And now he's got a girlfriend. Lovely lady...I used to know her in the Rama trip, when she was a high-powered database consultant earning $200+ per hour on Wall Street. But now she's into the whole Let thy will be done thing, too, and hasn't worked for several years herself. So -- on other people's money -- these two have been in India for the last year studying at an Indian teacher's school there. And they have been enjoying it and posting glowing reports, in between fighting illness and other such Indian things. And the whole *idea* presented to their supporters was that after their year of school- ing they'd take their newly-learned act on the road and use the knowledge to benefit others, all of the karmic credit for this going to the people who've paid for their lives these last few years. But now at the end of their studies they find themselves with less than a hundred bucks in their pockets and no plane tickets back to the US. So they're faced with the prospect of having to take a minimum one-year contract in Thailand or China teaching English, in exchange for room and board while there and a ticket home. Not exactly the world tour they'd imagined. But at the last minute God intervenes and they have been invited to stay another year at the guru's school, and so the call goes out for more money to support this. The benefit is to them- selves, of course, not to the world at large, but they'll get back to the world and put some energy back into the system Real Soon Now. So here's my quandary. There is simply NO WAY to argue with the success of Dakota's approach to life. He hasn't had to work at a real job in over two decades. God -- in the form of his friends who have jobs -- pays for his life. Every time he's down to nothing and sick as a dog in some Indian ashram, someone comes through with the money to buy antibiotics so he doesn't die. And they come through with the money so that he can continue his studies and keep learning important new infor- mation to benefit the world. I have no problem with this, and sometimes it inspires me just as much as it obviously inspires him. But at other times I just wonder about it all. It reminds me of the not-wealthy-themselves Purusha and Mother Divine people who have others paying for *their* lives so that they don't have to work, either. And it reminds me of all the gurus in history who have managed things so that they don't have to work. *Other people* work, and pay for their lives, so that they can be all spiritual and all, all for the greater benefit of the world, of course. The fact that this Let thy will be done...put my trust only in God thing WORKS for these people is an amazement. The fact that it works at the expense of other people who do work for a living doesn't amaze me as much. On the one hand I'd love to contribute to my friend's sadhana, because his example is a never-ending inspiration of just what a person can pull off if he trusts in the universe to take care of him, and does nothing to take care of himself. But on the other hand I cannot help but notice that all of the glorious world tours and the teaching to benefit others never seems to happen, and what *does* happen is more and more years of study *preparing* for the glorious world tours, all on someone else's nickel. I've written here before about the Cathars, and the way that they worked things. Their priests -- an equal number of men and women -- *worked* for a living. They had jobs, just as the lay Cathars did. None of the lay followers were ever expected to support them or pay for the teachings. The teach- ings were given for free, with the teacher/priests contributing their time and energy, paying for their own lives with
RE: [FairfieldLife] Let God's will be done...but at someone else's expense...
I was on Purusha for years and received thousands of dollars of support from “sponsors,” as did most other Purusha guys. There were times when I and others on Purusha were really earning our keep, and other times when we probably weren’t. I really grew tired of the “taker” lifestyle. It polluted my psychology and tarnished my friendships. I couldn’t walk into a room of TM people without scanning it for potential sponsors. Over time, the attitude that the world owed me a living because I was doing something important became more and more deeply ingrained. After I left Purusha and got married, it took a few years to uproot that attitude. Doing so was very healthy. It may be the best thing for Dakota’s spiritual progress to get a job in the real world and stop depending on others. It may be hard for him to do that now, because he is older and probably doesn’t have marketable skills. So he may be a dharma bum for the rest of his life. I think you are justified in feeling reluctant to support him. If you do so, a realistic justification should probably be compassion for someone who is too flakey to support himself, rather than a sense that you are supporting some sort of spiritual warrior. I’d let him go to Thailand to teach English. He’d be doing seva and getting a taste of self-sufficiency, both of which might be more spiritually beneficial for him than hanging out in an ashram. The fact that he has to send out periodic requests for $$ would seem to me that it's not working--not in a healthy way, at least. Look at what Rick says he went through every time he walked into a roomful of people. Putting yourself in the position of relying on the generosity of friends, many of whom are undoubtedly struggling themselves, would seem to me to be very stressful, and an ultimately 'unspiritual,' way to go through life. Leeching is leeching, no matter what the excuse. And the people who keep sending him cash are just enabling him. I doubt many of them feel very good about it. I'd say stay away from the whole situation. If donating $$ is what it takes to be friends with this guy, time to find a new friend and let this one go. Sal
