echo-icon-theme package maintainership
It is encouraging to see that you seem to be back to making Echo a great icon theme. I wonder if we can arrange for someone who is actively involved in the echo effort to take over maintenance of the echo-icon-theme package, and build regular snapshots. It is pretty obvious that David and I don't really have the time and energy to do frequent enough updates, and it would be a shame to keep the Echo improvements locked away in some revision control system. Re: echo-icon-theme package maintainership
Mark (me) perhaps? ^_^ No. i'm just giving it my best shot... nothing more at this moment. My vote is for Martin because he seems to be the most active one in the Echo icon development and on the fedora-art-list. ___ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list

Having at least two maintainers would be logical. I think I can still make snapshot as build 0.3.x. Martin should be the primary maintainer given his intense effort of making wiki page and reworking most of icons. -- Luya Tshimbalanga Fedora Project contributor http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/LuyaTshimbalanga ___ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list

But winter semester just started so I'll slow down with my contributions (not as much time). Oh and I think, if you are going to make new package based on the latest icons, disable the SVGs - they eat too much cpu time, especially in gtk file dialogs (where are usually many 16x16 icons). What do you think about icons like blueradio-48 (gnome-obex-server executable), where the 48 looks like size suffix? I think that the suffix should be removed (leaving only blueradio). Or call it gnome-obex-server. I'll file a bug about it in gnome bugzilla. And yes, the real solution is probably not having a application launcher at all so you don't have to start it by hand all the time. Then there could just be a on/off checkbox in the control center somewhere. - Andreas ___ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list
Games Spin: Look and Feel
Hi As you might be aware, the Fedora Games SIG has been working on a games spin of Fedora and we got tentative approval do just that. An early version is planned to be out shortly and another to match the Fedora 8 release. I would like to get some unique look and feel for the games spin which can be as simple as a different background. Can the art team help me with that? We are packaging a wide variety of games but we have a focus on 3D intensive ones since one of the goals of the Live DVD is to test out hardware for performance before you buy them. So keep that in mind and be creative. Rahul ___ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list

I may have to make more icons for this session. As for SVG, I wonder if it is a bug against gtk rendering. It would be nice that someone tested SVG icons on KDE to check out.
