I'm so partial to a more general mascot that conveys something about
our values like something based on one of these guys maybe

It is beautiful. I only wish I could find a link to the source on it somewhere.

Mike, I love the beginning of your theme. In fact, I think all the
suggested themes this round are very exciting. It is going to be a
really hard decision for F10!

Since these names were probably chosen prior to this happening just
thought I'd point out that Maemo just released Diablo
(http://maemo.org/maemo_release_documentation/maemo4.1.x/) which I
think would make that one an awkward choice.

Wow, that is so cool. Does it need to be blinged up?

I would recommend not listening to it as hearing two people laugh
hysterically for 5 minutes because they don't like how it looks isn't
really anything but hurtful. These are the people who when reporting
on Matthew Szulik stepping down thought it was worth airtime to laugh
about his name since they didn't know how to pronounce it and made the
remarkably offensive comment "When the going gets rough, the tough
make up some lame excuse about family health – MAN I sure hope it was
just an excuse, otherwise I sound like a huge jerk. SORRY."

If they had any points of substance those have been made elsewhere and
I'm sure everyone is aware of them by now.

I agree and being bold and innovative in artwork is in harmony with
Fedora's emphasis on innovation under the covers too.
