I was thinking of it primarily as another way to convey the idea of
freedom. So technically it would just be a part of

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Artwork/F9Themes/Freedom

Not exactly that image but the general impressions from it. Our themes
have been so far abstract and I think actual people in a photograph or a
realistic graphics rendering of a similar image might be a good thing
to try.

While photos of unknown people (about whom I don't feel anything) is not
exactly my cup of tea as desktop theming, I agree *some* will like that
(how many, maybe we can learn by having an official proposal and see the
feed-back).
But I think such a theme should be *completely* made by photos, not only
the desktop background.

You have to be very careful with human forms in images. If I was
going to recreate this as a widely used image, at the very least I'd
make sure you can see all of the appendages. And I'd abstract it so
the forms were humanoid instead of actual people. We won't avoid
alieanating the dolphins in our user community, but we may attract
Martian users. Dolphins already get concession with the blue theming
so they shouldn't be too upset.

Dunno, specifically. Its just a nice picture that shows lots of things
that people generally like: sun, grass, fresh air, energetic people...

Yeah, I'm not saying that the picture would make a good default
background. But it would be a good background for me, and it would be
nice to have it available in the collection of backgrounds.

For the default background, we can go with alienated dolphins, as far as
I am concerned...

I'm not sure what levitating paraplegics have to do with Fedora's
overal mission. I'm sure they are in the userbase, but i don't think
we make any effort to target them, so singling them out as a focus in
the theme might be a little out of place.
