Huh. I'm already using this functionality in F-11 for my LPG package. [1]

Am I wrong to be doing so? I did notice scratch builds don't seem to
like noarch subpackages very much.

You're fine.  The Feature seems to be about mandating that a large
percentage of our packages switch to noarch subpackages.  So it's fine
to be doing this early.
