Re: Lack of perl(Glib::MakeHelper) module?

2009-07-28 Thread
Thanks a lot., Nicolas.

I build my two package targeting to dist-f12. I rebuild them for fedora 12
not for fedora 11.

Do you push the latest update to dist-f12?

Lack of perl(Glib::MakeHelper) module?

2009-07-27 Thread
Now it is time to rebuild the packages for Fedora 12. I try to rebuild my
maintained package.

When I rebuild my perl-Gnome2-Wnck and perl-Goo-Canvas, it fails and shows
that it needs Glib::MakeHelper but it can not find. But in the past when I
submitted and build these two package, it is OK. I do not know whether
another perl module packages will meet this problem or not. As I see it, it
is possible that perl-Glib has a bug. But I can not make sure.

These are perl-Gnome2-Wnck and perl-Goo-Canvas build logs.
perl-Gnome2-Wnck:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=1523997name=build.log
perl-Goo-Canvas:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=1523891name=build.log

Is Glib::MakeHelper moved into perl-Glib-devel? But I think rpmbuild is able
to detect and add it into spec file automatically.

If it is really a bug, I will write a bug report on bugzilla.

At last, perl-Glib has announced 1.222 version. Please maintainer upgrade
it.

Chromium-3.0.195 fails to start

2009-07-20 Thread
I download and install the latest rpm of chromium-3.0.195. But it fails to
start.

It shows us that things in gnome-terminal:

[fed...@fedora-desktop disk]$ chromium-browser
/usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser: Symbol `SSL_ImplementedCiphers'
has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
[21121:21121:2856690408:FATAL:/mnt/chromium/rpmbuild/BUILD/chromium-20090716svn20889/src/app/gfx/font_skia.cc(90)]
Check failed: tf. Could not find font: WenQuanYi Zen Hei

Could not detect where Chinese fonts stays? In the older version, the error
does not appear.

My Fedora is Fedora 10 i386. The error also appear on Fedora 11 x86_64.

Another things, chromium-3.0.195 add a new dependency: nss-mdns.

I hope the bug will be fixed soon.

Re: Chromium-3.0.195 fails to start

2009-07-20 Thread
No, that dependency actually is a bug because I hardcoded the %{_isa} to
force it to a specific architecture target: nss-mdns(x86-32). That's
wrong, it shouldn't have the hardcoding. I'll fix it in the next build.

Thank you, spot!

Re: http://www.fsf.org/news/dont-depend-on-mono

2009-06-30 Thread
In my opinion, maybe Mono is a good thing for attracting more developers to
come into Linux world. Also Programmers write a lot of great softwares,
such as tomboy, f-spot and giver. But we can not ignore that there are some
legal issues in Mono. If Microsoft accuses some users of stealing his
copyright, or Microsoft bans developers to write C#, it will cause a large
disaster for OpenSource community.

As far as I am concerned, I suggest that Mono is not the default
installation on Fedora. But Mono should staying at Fedora repository. I am
using f-spot to export my photos to picasa web album. It is much better than
Google Picasa for Linux. I know that gnote will replace tomboy. I hope
solang will replace f-spot for the reason that sometimes after I upload
photos to picasa web album f-spot would crash.

Also moving Mono to RPM Fusion may be a better choice. It is more efficient
to avoid legal issues with Microsoft. But lacking of maintainers, RPM Fusion
is unlikely to maintain Mono platform and some applications requiring Mono
well. So I suggest that Mono should stay at Fedora repository but not be the
default installations.

Try Digikam.
su -c yum install digikam

Kevin Kofler

I more like gtk+ programs than qt4 programs.Haha!

So I really hope that solang will replace f-spot soon. And solang has more
new features than f-spot.

I don't see a package review request or any koji builds. Are you sure
it's coming to Fedora?

I really do not know when it comes to Fedora. I hope it soon.

If you are interested in it, you can click into these websites and lean more

At last, I am not solang's author.
