What audio chipset do you have? It sounds like disabling the
speakers when you plug in earphones is under software control. You
may need to check a checkbox on the ALSA mixer, or specify a
different model for your chipset. This is common with the Intel HDA
chipset. (ALSA does not recognize the configuration on my Toshiba
A105-S4004 so I have to play with it.)

One option would be Sun's Communication Suite which is also supported on
Linux (RHEL).

Hi All,

As part of a larger project to move our company away from Microsoft
products, I'm investigating options for replacing our enterprise
exchange server.

We have about 500 mailboxes that would need to ported out as well as
public folders and contacts/calendars etc.

Can anyone recommend a linux groupware solution that would enable us to
provide an Outlook like environment? And allows importing of prior data?

Thanks!

As an update, i finally settled with BloGTK which seems to integrate
well with MetaWeblog API than Drivel.

It worked. Thanks. Apparently, there was a password related issue from
my server side.

I have removed the openoffice from Fedora 9 (yum remove
openoffice.org-core.i386) and installed the version 2.4.1 which i have
downloaded from openoffice.org. That fixed it.

F9 FF3b5 Xorg high cpu

2008-06-09 Thread Srikanth Konjarla

All,

I am noticing that scrolling through (up and down) the web page rendered

relatively high). Compiz-Fusion enabled with latest Nvidia driver. Does
anybody else experience the same? Any workarounds?

Thanks in advance

Backup Options

2008-06-07 Thread Srikanth Konjarla

All,

I use Fedora on my laptop which is primarily for business purposes. So,
i like to get the data backup from laptop to home desktop machine (over
ssh) and trying to find an easy and reliable backup tool. I have tried
pybackpack with rdiff-backup combination but i found it not very
reliable with at least ssh option.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance
