--- Comment #3 from Jason Tibbitts ti...@math.uh.edu 2010-01-07 15:21:17 EDT
---
This package was in Extras from before the days before reviews were done in Red
Hat's bugzilla. It was either done on the mailing list or in the fedora.us
bugzilla, which is no longer available.

I'm not aware of any Fedora procedure which would require that these packages
be re-reviewed (though I don't necessarily think that it would be a terrible
idea if only the existing review queue weren't so long). Could you indicate
just why you believe this needs a re-review?

 Red

The review was done in Fedora US bugzilla (and most likely by Ville Skytta).

SRPM:
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/perl-Tie-IxHash/1.21/10.fc12/src/perl-Tie-IxHash-1.21-10.fc12.src.rpm
Spec:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/fileinfo?rpmID=1426615filename=perl-Tie-IxHash.spec
Description: This Perl module implements Perl hashes that preserve the order in
which the hash elements were added. The order is not affected when values
corresponding to existing keys in the IxHash are changed. The elements can also
be set to any arbitrary supplied order. The familiar perl array operations can
also be performed on the IxHash.

SRPM:
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/perltidy/20090616/2.fc12/src/perltidy-20090616-2.fc12.src.rpm
Spec:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/fileinfo?rpmID=1458511filename=perltidy.spec
Description: Perltidy is a Perl script which indents and reformats Perl scripts
to make them easier to read. If you write Perl scripts, or spend much time
reading them, you will probably find it useful. The formatting can be
controlled with command line parameters. The default parameter settings
approximately follow the suggestions in the Perl Style Guide. Perltidy can also
output html of both pod and source code. Besides reformatting scripts, Perltidy
can be a great help in tracking down errors with missing or extra braces,
parentheses, and square brackets because it is very good at localizing errors.

Greetings.

I am looking at getting Xfce branched for EPEL.
xfconf needs perl-Glib, which in turn needs this package.

If you don't want to maintain it in EPEL, I would be happy to do so.

It rebuilds with no changes for EL-5 here.

Thanks.

I am looking at getting Xfce in EPEL, and xfconf needs this package
(which in turn needs perl-ExtUtils-Depends which I have also asked to be
branched).

If you make the minor change to perl BuildRequires here the package builds fine
on EL-5,
however, it seems to fail it's %tests:

...
 t/64bitGLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_param_spec_int64:
assertion `default_value = minimum default_value = maximum' failed at
t/64bit.t line 20.
# Failed test 'The object isa Glib::Param::Int64'
# in t/64bit.t at line 24.
# The object isn't defined
Can't call method get_minimum on an undefined value at t/64bit.t line 25.
# Looks like you planned 12 tests but only ran 1.
# Looks like you failed 1 test of 1 run.
# Looks like your test died just after 1.
dubious
Test returned status 255 (wstat 65280, 0xff00)
DIED. FAILED tests 1-12
Failed 12/12 tests, 0.00% okay

(note this is on a 32bit build). Perhaps something with RHEL's perl ?

I'd be happy to help maintain for EPEL-5.

thanks

Patch to ignore recommends dependencies.

With cpanspec 1.78, META.yml's recommends dependencies are treated as
requires ones. That is way too harsh and easily requires many more package
updates than ordinarily necessary. The attached patch fixes this.

Ugh x 2. The message catalog for DE is broken. The
format strings don't have matching %s, eg:

$ msgunfmt /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/virt-top.mo
[...]
msgid %s: display should be %s
msgstr '%s' sollte numerisch sein.

msgid %s: sort order should be: %s
msgstr Soll eine Palette verwendet werden?

The gettext library is supposed to be catching this sort
of error, but obviously that bit doesn't work.

The problem was simply that I'd built the package against
the old, broken ocaml-gettext library, and not the new fixed
version.

Please try upgrading to virt-top 1.0.4-3 (in Rawhide):
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=148899

I also need to backport ocaml-gettext 0.3.3 to Fedora 12
and rebuild virt-top in F12 against that. Not done yet - so
I'll leave this bug open.

I have typed my Telugu text here using firefox browser
http://www.google.com/transliterate/indic/Telugu
and pasted it into OpenOffice Writer 3.1 with Lohit Telugu font version 2.4.5
selected.
Everything seem to be working fine though the newer Lohit font looks smaller
than an older version of Lohit font I was using earlier.

But the main problem here is, a dash (-) becomes an empty space. It looks like
a long space that is equivalent two chars approx.
I also tried to type a dash right in the OO but it doesn't work.

If I select Pothana2000 font instead of Lohit in OO, all my dashes work fine.
The Pothana2000 is another Unicode font for Telugu but I love the rounded
letter shapes of Lohit font so much!

Thanks a lot for this beautiful Lohit Telugu font.

So it seems that a rebuild of perl was needed, closing to NOTABUG because the

(In reply to comment #23)
 any updates here?

Not really. I'm terribly sorry, I haven't had time to fix this properly. :-/

To sum up :
1. I worked around the initial issue by patching the sources
2. Nicolas added that other parameters might be incorrect and would need to be
fixed
3. I never got any answer from upstream, even if I contacted them several times
at different email addresses...

Thanks for poking me, I'll try to have a look at all this, but if anyone wants
to beat me to it, I'd be more than happy to give the necessary ACLs in
PackageDB.

--- Comment #7 from Daryll dar...@daryll.net 2009-12-23 13:33:03 EDT ---

Please re-open, problem persists in Fedora 12.

The change from Matthias appears to be installed on F12, but when I move the
mouse over a checkbox, the pointer turns to a finger, but clicking the square
does not do anything.

Testing using the same IRS W-9 rev Oct 2007 that's included in my earlier
report.

I'm building some updated RPMs with a patch for this issue back-ported from
upstream:

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=1887104

If anyone can give those a shot with accessibility enabled and see if there are
still crasher bugs, I'd appreciate it.

I think bug #547056 is a dupe of this one.

Thank you for reporting this bug.

If you run the program from a terminal, is an error message printed?

What version of blueman and pango do you have installed?

Looking at the backtrace, it looks like the problem occurred in the program's
single thread in _pango_cairo_font_private_get_scaled_font

Reassigning component from python to pango, but could be a blueman issue.

--- Comment #12 from James Cloos cl...@jhcloos.com 2009-12-21 18:18:10 EDT

Suitable fontconfig scripts can help here.

I use these two scripts to force the autofitter for non-glyf fonts (there is an
open rfe for freetype to replace the type1/cff hinting module with one which
uses the autofit module, but taking advantage of the type1/cff hints; this
would be an excellent project for anyone who wants to delve into font
rasterization techniques) and to set the filtering to match the chosen hinting
option.

Combined with fc code akin to:

!-- cut here --
 match target=font
   test name=family
 stringVL Gothic/string
   /test
   edit name=autohint mode=assign
 booltrue/bool
   /edit
 /match
!-- and here --

one can force the autofitter for some glyf fonts and use the bci for others.

Forgot to say:

I’d be optimistic that a patch for freetype, which enabled the autofit module
for glyphs of an SFNT/glyf font which lack instructions, would get accepted,
provided it matched ft’s coding style.

--- Comment #6 from Akira TAGOH ta...@redhat.com 2009-12-21 01:33:42 EDT ---
First of all, the behaviour on fontconfig might be changed in the future. keep
your eye on Bug#546490 as Pravin said at the above comment.

Speaking more technical thing, right now fontconfig doesn't apply the lang to
the pattern-matching stage. basically it has been done in FcConfigSubstitute().
most applications using fontconfig is written like:

  FcConfigSubstitute(0, pat, FcMatchPattern);
  FcDefaultSubstitute(pat);

So the lang from current locale is applied after the pattern-matching is
finished. as per our current rules, we are expecting to see the lang thing at
the pattern-matching. thus, the lang available at the font-matching stage
doesn't affect as expected at all.

upstream is aware of this issue but unfortunately no idea to fix that. see the
thread in upstream list for more details what the problem is:

Though I still think as we have language specific Lohit fonts now, we should
only keep character set of that language in font.

For now deferring this for future development.

Please have a look at Unicode data file
http://www.unicode.org/Public/5.2.0/ucd/CompositionExclusions.txt where its
clearly said that codepoints U09DC, U09DD, U09DF need more than one backspace
key to delete whole character.

--- Comment #10 from Nikolay Bryskin devel.n...@gmail.com 2009-12-19

There is workaround for this bug: disable Assistive technologies in Gnome. My
patch just removes symptoms of some bug in gnome assistive technologies, and
there is a couple of another places where openjdk crashes. I patched them all,
but annoying window now appears instead of crash (when gnome assistive
technologies is turned on). So I propose to move this bug to gnome assistive
technologies team.
Tip: bug occurs when I close any property window in Eclipse by pressing OK
button.
