Klamav (KDE GUI for clamav) is now in the repo:

Thanks, installs fine.

The error message is misleading. It doesn't mean that you currently have
a missing dependency, it means that you /will/ have a missing dependency
if you update that library. IMHO that error message should be changed to
read something like:

"Dependency conflict: .so.x is set to be removed and updated by
.so.y, but package foobar needs .so.x, and no suitable
update candidate is available for foobar".

Meanwhile I recommend you simply remove klamav and try again, until I
rebuild it and publish it to the repo (hopefully in the next hour or so).

If anyone knows of any other dependants, let me know, and I'll add them
to my todo list.

On my Fedora 7 system I get from yum update clamav:
Error: Missing Dependency: libclamav.so.3 is needed by package klamav
I do indeed have libclamav.so.3 so what is wrong?

Unrar support is a copyright infringement.

I have an F7 box here, so I'll rebuild and test later.

I should really be using mach/mock, but I'm a bit disorganised ATM :)

Also I'm still investigating the legality of building unrar against GPL
sources. I think this is not a question of whether the author gives his
permission to distribute freeware, but more a question of whether GPL
software can be linked to proprietary software. If it is actually linked
rather than a separate binary, then I don't think it's legal, and even
then I'm not sure if they can be distributed in an RPM package together.

Just to be safe, I'm going to disable unrar support and rebuild.

Will this ever happen ?

For some reason the Fedora 8 packages for ClamAV are lagging behind F9,
so I've provided updates for the following architectures, based on the
Fedora 9 SRPM:

Can it be used for Fedora 7 as well?
