Thanks, this is useful to me too.
Pressing ESC to stop animations for the current tab is not really
attractive when you have about 200 tabs :-)

I used to run with no animation in Konqueror and then switched to
Firefox with noScript which works very well, except that when scripts
are enabled, so are animations, which I dislike intensely.

I would like to turn off all animations. but continue using NoScript.
