Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-2511

Name: stp
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 0.1
Release : 4.fc10
URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/stp-fast-prover/
Summary : Constraint solver/decision procedure
Description :
STP (Simple Theorem Prover) is
a constraint solver (also referred to as a decision procedure
or automated prover) aimed at solving constraints generated by program
analysis tools, theorem provers, automated bug finders, intelligent
fuzzers and model checkers. STP has been used in many research projects
at Stanford, Berkeley, MIT, CMU and other universities, as well as
companies and government agencies.

The input to STP are formulas over the theory of bit-vectors and arrays
(This theory captures most expressions from languages like C/C++/Java
and Verilog), and the output of STP is a single bit of information that
indicates whether the formula is satisfiable or not. If the input is
satisfiable, then it also generates a variable assignment to satisfy
the input formula.

Fedora 10 Update: mon-1.2.0-3.fc10

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-1910

Name: mon
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 1.2.0
Release : 3.fc10
URL : http://www.kernel.org/software/mon/
Summary : General-purpose resource monitoring system
Description :
Mon is a general-purpose resource monitoring system. It can be used
to monitor network service availability, server problems,
environmental conditions (i.e., the temperature in a room) or other
things. Mon can be used to test the condition and/or to trigger an
action upon failure of the condition. Mon keeps the testing and
action-taking tasks as separate, stand-alone programs.

Mon is very extensible. Monitors and alerts are not a part of mon, but
the distribution comes with a handful of them to get you started. This
means that if a new service needs monitoring, or if a new alert is
required, the mon server will not need to be changed.

This update can be installed with the "yum" update program. Use
su -c 'yum update mon' at the command line.

Name: drupal
Product : Fedora 9
Version : 6.10
Release : 1.fc9
URL : http://www.drupal.org
Summary : An open-source content-management platform
Description :
Equipped with a powerful blend of features, Drupal is a Content Management
System written in PHP that can support a variety of websites ranging from
personal weblogs to large community-driven websites. Drupal is highly
configurable, skinnable, and secure.

Update Information:

Fixes for selinux issues and cron issues, as well as an upgrade to 6.10 to fix a
security flaw.Prior updates to 6.9 fixed the selinux and cron issues, but
were in testing when the security fix was released.IMPORTANT: This update
changes the location of the 'files' directories for each site from:
/etc/drupal//files to /var/lib/drupal/files/ to allow
running drupal on a host in SELinux enforcing mode. This will require manual
intervention. Immediately after update, you'll need to move your files
directories and symlink to them from their old locations. There is a script
in the new package docs, /usr/share/doc/drupal-6.10/drupal-files-migrator.sh,
that will work in some circumstances. It includes the commands needed to relabel
the SELinux contexts on your files, and is intended more as a guide than to be
run as-is. I have found issues with installations where one site is a symlink to
another. Patches welcome! Fixes for selinux issues and cron issues, no code or
database changes, packaging only.IMPORTANT: This update changes the location

Fedora 10 Update: perl-Variable-Magic-0.32-1.fc10

2009-03-09 Thread updates

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-2548

Name: perl-Variable-Magic
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 0.32
Release : 1.fc10
URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Variable-Magic/
Summary : Associate user-defined magic to variables from Perl
Description :
Magic is Perl way of enhancing objects. This mechanism let the user add
extra data to any variable and hook syntaxical operations (such as access,
assignation or destruction) that can be applied to it. With this module,
you can add your own magic to any variable without the pain of the C API.

Update Information:

0.322009-03-01 13:45 UTC + Chg : dispell() and getdata() now croak
when an invalid signature is passed. + Doc : More
examples and a brand new synopsis. + Fix : The signature is no longer
stored in the mg_private member of the MAGIC struct. This fixes
possible clashes with magics from other extensions. +
Fix : op info objects weren't blessed into the right class. + Fix :
Races when initializing the op names cache under threads.0.312009-02-19
23:50 UTC + Doc : A somewhat better introduction. The FUNCTION section
was moved before CONSTANTS and HISTORY since it's more
important. And 'assignation' is really 'assignment', says
Ricardo. :) + Fix : The op_info features are now thread safe.
+ Fix : Segfaults that occured when trying to get the op name during
global destruction. + Fix : Segfaults and wrong "Unknown error"
exceptions that happened when dieing in require caused a free
callback to fire. Thanks Florian Ragwitz for reporting.

Fedora 10 Update: perl-Hash-Merge-Simple-0.04-1.fc10

2009-03-09 Thread updates

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-2551

Name: perl-Hash-Merge-Simple
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 0.04
Release : 1.fc10
URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Hash-Merge-Simple
Summary : Recursively merge two or more hashes, simply
Description :
Hash::Merge::Simple will recursively merge two or more hashes and return
the result as a new hash reference. The merge function will descend and
merge hashes that exist under the same node in both the left and right
hash, but doesn't attempt to combine arrays, objects, scalars, or

whatever was in the left hash if a conflict occurs. This code was pretty
much taken straight from Catalyst::Utils, and modified to handle more

Fedora 10 Update: pinot-0.90-1.fc10

2009-03-09 Thread updates

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-2313
2009-03-04 15:51:32

Name: pinot
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 0.90
Release : 1.fc10
URL : http://pinot.berlios.de/
Summary : Personal search and metasearch for the Desktop
Description :
Pinot is a D-Bus service that crawls, indexes your documents and monitors them
for changes, as well as a GTK-based user interface that enables to query
the index built by the service and your favourite Web engines, and display and
analyze the results

Update Information:

Update to new upstream release:- Unicode text. Charset conversion errors
are better handled, tokenizing was improved and leads to far less "rubbish"
terms. Issues the UI had with non-Latin locales were resolved - Web metasearch.
Plugins were updated, extracts and results URLs are more accurate. - more
coherent UI. Some features were previously only available in search mode,
others in browse mode; some were duplicated. The new menu layout tries to unify
both modes. The status window' refresh is smoother. Preferences can be open
separately from the UI. Spelling suggestions are less invasive, they pop up in
the same tabs as queries results. - improved More Like This. Stored queries
generated on More Like This don't include the original query's terms, stopwords,
infrequent terms or similar terms if the stemming language is set. - command-
line and desktop integration. pinot-cd.sh implements a "tagged cd", and lets
one change the shell's current directory to the directory that matches the path
elements passed as parameter. The Deskbar module shows snippets when used with
Deskbar 2.24. - more flexible daemon. The daemon is smarter at crawling
symlinks, it skips those that refer to locations that have been crawled or that
it knows will be crawled. It is much better at resuming where it stopped after
user interruption. While user-set meta-data would previously be lost on a
reindex, or when the file changed on the disk, it's now preserved.

Fedora 10 Update: zeroinstall-injector-0.38-2.fc10

2009-03-09 Thread updates

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-2352
2009-03-04 15:52:13

Name: zeroinstall-injector
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 0.38
Release : 2.fc10
URL : http://0install.net
Summary : The Zero Install Injector (0launch)
Description :
The Zero Install Injector makes it easy for users to install software without
needing root privileges. It takes the URL of a program and runs it
(downloading it first if necessary). Any dependencies of the program are
fetched in the same way. The user controls which version of the program and
its dependencies to use.

Zero Install is a decentralised installation system (there is no central
repository; all packages are identified by URLs), loosly-coupled (if different
programs require different versions of a library then both versions are
installed in parallel, without conflicts), and has an emphasis on security
(all package descriptions are GPG-signed, and contain cryptographic hashes of
the contents of each version). Each version of each program is stored in its
own sub-directory within the Zero Install cache (nothing is installed to
directories outside of the cache, such as /usr/bin) and no code from the
package is run during install or uninstall. The system can automatically check
for updates when software is run.

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-2558
2009-03-09 22:02:58

Name: smp_utils
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 0.94
Release : 2.fc10
URL : http://sg.danny.cz/sg/smp_utils.html
Summary : Utilities for SAS management protocol (SMP)
Description :
This is a package of utilities. Each utility sends a Serial Attached
SCSI (SAS) Management Protocol (SMP) request to a SMP target.
If the request fails then the error is decoded. If the request succeeds
then the response is either decoded, printed out in hexadecimal or
output in binary. This package supports multiple interfaces since
SMP passthroughs are not mature. This package supports the linux
2.4 and 2.6 series and should be easy to port to other operating
systems.

Warning: Some of these tools access the internals of your system
and the incorrect usage of them may render your system inoperable.

libgee is a collection library providing GObject-based interfaces and
classes for commonly used data structures.

libgee provides the following interfaces:

* Iterable
  * Collection
* List
* Set
* Iterator
* Map

The ArrayList, HashSet, and HashMap classes provide a reasonable sample
implementation of the List, Set, and Map interfaces. ReadOnlyCollection,
ReadOnlyList, ReadOnlySet, and ReadOnlyMap are read-only wrapper classes
that prevent modification of the underlying collection.

libgee is written in Vala and can be used like any GObject-based C library.
It's planned to provide bindings for further languages.

Fedora 10 Update: mkinitrd-6.0.71-4.fc10

2009-03-09 Thread updates

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-1650
2009-02-13 03:21:18

Name: mkinitrd
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 6.0.71
Release : 4.fc10
URL : git://git.fedoraproject.org/git/hosted/mkinitrd
Summary : Creates an initial ramdisk image for preloading modules.
Description :
mkinitrd creates filesystem images for use as initial ram filesystem
(initramfs) images. These images are used to find and mount the root
filesystem.

Update Information:

Do not call dm_resolve_name on dmraidsets names, sometimes it fails, and it is
not necessary, this fixes the dmraid boot failure seen on some systems
(#476818). Fix finding / by UUID or LABEL not working with newer kernels
(#480667). Fix mkinitrd not supporting relatime fstab option for / (#296361).
Note that if you are impacted by any of these bugs, then in order to benifit
from this update you need to regenerate your initrd like this:
KVER=##-  mv /boot/initrd-$(KVER).img /boot/initrd-$(KVER).img.old
mkinitrd /boot/initrd-$(KVER).img $(KVER)Where KVER should be set to the
kernel version-release for the non-bootable kernel you are trying to fix. This
is the string between "initrd-" and ".img" when you do a: ls /bootYou can
find the version-release string for all installed kernels by doing: rpm -q --qf
"%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}\n" kernelThis will print the full name-version-
release.arch for each installed kernel followed by the version-release.If
you do not have any bootable kernel at all, you can try to fix this by booting
the install CD in to rescue mode and then do: chroot /mnt/sysimage

ChangeLog:

* Thu Feb 12 2009 Hans de Goede  - 6.0.71-4
- Do not call dm_resolve_name on dmraidsets names, sometimes it fails, and

Fedora 9 Update: PyQuante-1.6.3-1.fc9

2009-03-09 Thread updates

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-2562
2009-03-09 22:03:00.585807

Name: PyQuante
Product : Fedora 9
Version : 1.6.3
Release : 1.fc9
URL : http://pyquante.sourceforge.net/
Summary : Python Quantum Chemistry
Description :
PyQuante is an open-source suite of programs for developing quantum chemistry
methods. The program is written in the Python programming language, but has
many "rate-determining" modules also written in C for speed. The resulting
code, though not as fast as Jaguar, NWChem, Gaussian, or GAMESS, is much
easier to understand and modify. The goal of this software is not necessarily
to provide a working quantum chemistry program (although it will hopefully do
that), but rather to provide a well-engineered set of tools so that scientists
can construct their own quantum chemistry programs without going through the
tedium of having to write every low-level routine.

First release.

[SECURITY] Fedora 10 Update: libpng10-1.0.43-1.fc10

2009-03-09 Thread updates

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2009-1976
2009-02-24 17:19:51

Name: libpng10
Product : Fedora 10
Version : 1.0.43
Release : 1.fc10
URL : http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/libpng.html
Summary : Old version of libpng, needed to run old binaries
Description :
The libpng10 package contains an old version of libpng, a library of functions
for creating and manipulating PNG (Portable Network Graphics) image format
files.

This package is needed if you want to run binaries that were linked dynamically
with libpng 1.0.x.

Update Information:

This release fixes a vulnerability in which some arrays of pointers are not
initialized prior to using malloc to define the pointers. If the application
runs out of memory while executing the allocation loop (which can be forced by
malevolent input), libpng10 will jump to a cleanup process that attempts to free
all of the pointers, including the undefined ones. This issue has been
assigned CVE-2009-0040

ChangeLog:

* Thu Feb 19 2009 Paul Howarth  1.0.43-1
- update to 1.0.43 (clear pointer arrays created using png_malloc())
* Fri Dec 19 2008 Paul Howarth  1.0.42-1
- update to 1.0.42 (various minor bugfixes and code cleanups)
