NTLM support can be included when libntlm( bug 245080 ) is in the repos.

From the README:

And also I'm making this package for msmtp( bug 243631) which doesn't use

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-06-21 08:34 EST ---
Some additional comments and complete review:

* rpmlint:
E: fnord non-standard-gid /srv/www/fnord fnord
E: fnord non-standard-dir-perm /srv/www/fnord 0750

The ownership and path are both fine.
But could you please pick some more standard path than /srv?
Would /var/www be a good choice?

E: fnord statically-linked-binary /usr/sbin/fnord-httpd
E: fnord statically-linked-binary /usr/sbin/fnord-idx
E: fnord statically-linked-binary /usr/sbin/fnord-cgi

I asked about linking against dietlibc in the comment above.

* The package is named according to guidelines
* Spec file name is fine
* Package meets the guidelines
* Package is licensed under GPL
* The license text is included in documentation
* To the extend I understand, the spec file is in American English
* The spec file is clear, legible and easily understandable
* The source matches upstream
 fnord-1.10.tar.bz2 = MD5(4c7d9f0e2b2f071d4687688f3018ba91)

What is the Source1: http://www.fefe.de/fnord/%name-%version.tar.bz2.sig good
for?

* Tried compiling and running on i386 and x86_64 successfully
* Dependency list seems to be complete
* Package makes no use of locales
* Does not provide dynamically loaded libraries
* Not relocatable
* Package owns the directory it creates (though correctness of the path is
questionable, see comment at the top of this comment)
* Contains no duplicate entries in %files
* %files sections are fine and contain %defattr
* Contains proper %clean section
* Consistently uses macros
* Contains permissable content (code)
* No large quantities of documentation
* %doc files are not required for correct function
* No header files
* No static libraries
* No pkgconfig files
* No library files
* No devel subpackage
* No libtool archives
* No GUI
* No confilcts about files with anny other package
* %install begins with removal of PRM_BUILD_ROOT as it should
* All filenames are 7bit ASCII, so also valid UTF-8

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-06-21 09:47 EST ---
* Make sure this passes rpmlint (i haven't actually tested that here).
* You're lucky with the patches, most of them just got committed upstream as
well and managed to make it into the tarball. However, please copy
firefox-0.7.3-psfonts.patch from rawhide which marco said you guys need. It
applies cleanly.
* I will let you slide with static linking for now as I'm guessing you have
packages dependent on that right now, but we probably want to fix their usage to
use the frozen APIs and get rid of that. Do file a bug and cc me there to do
that.
* Provides:   gecko-libs = %{version} gecko-libs --- extra gecko-libs
* Your mozconfig also should define libdir in addition to prefix. Since you are
exporting LIBDIR and PREFIX in the specfile (you copied from rawhide which is
good) you can simply copy the ac_add_options --prefix=$PREFIX and
ac_add_options --libdir=$LIBDIR
* Please move --with-system-nspr to be next to --with-system-nss for ease of
reference. Those are tied very closely together.

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-06-21 10:59 EST ---
Actually, the way it works is that this ticket isn't closed until the reviewer
approves the package. Usually the package maintainer communicates with the
reviewer and says things like I applied your patch, thanks or I've fixed the
following issues that you found and then the reviewer can take a look at what's
in CVS and if things are good the fedora-review flag is set to '+' and then the
maintainer closes the bug once the package with all of the changes has been
built successfully.

Under no circumstances that I can think of is the ticket closed without the
reviewer signing off on the package.

Sorry, I haven't enough time for now (exams time) and I don't really know how to
make these changes as it needs a complete redo of the buildchain as they don't
use  autoconf/automake.
I thought about renaming all files but that would be useless as executables are
linked against .so without soversion
If you have any idea...

1. Still requires kernel 2.6.19; this should be a conflicts
2. -devel requires openssl-devel and pam-devel even though it's not actually
linked against either of those (and I don't see definitions that would need them
in the header, but I might be reading wrong.)

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-06-21 12:33 EST ---
This has been sitting for ages. I'll take a look.

I note that 2.2.3 is out.

The resulting package doesn't end up with any kind of dependency on tcl or tk.
I'm not really sure if it should.

There is some sort of test suite present. I have no idea whether it could be
run automatically. I know essentially nothing about tcl so I don't even know
how to do manual testing.

Review:
* source files match upstream:
   5acb3ce3fd098383a10cb5f03531e625ddf342944d2a91560c9bbeb68b560c9a
   tktreectrl-2.2.1.tar.gz
* package meets naming and versioning guidelines.
* specfile is properly named, is cleanly written and uses macros consistently.
* summary is OK.
* description is OK.
* dist tag is present.
* build root is OK.
* license field matches the actual license.
* license is open source-compatible.
* license text included in package.
X latest version is not being packaged.
* BuildRequires are proper.
* compiler flags are appropriate.
* %clean is present.
* package builds in mock (development, x86_64).
* package installs properly
* debuginfo package looks complete.
* rpmlint is silent.
? final provides and requires missing dependency on tk?
   libtreectrl2.2.so()(64bit)
   tktreectrl = 2.2.1-1.fc8
  =
   libX11.so.6()(64bit)
? %check is not present. There's some sort of test suite present; I have no
  idea whether it could be run in mock.
* no shared libraries are added to the regular linker search paths.
* owns the directories it creates.
* doesn't own any directories it shouldn't.
* no duplicates in %files.
* file permissions are appropriate.
* no scriptlets present.
* code, not content.
* documentation is small, so no -docs subpackage is necessary.
* %docs are not necessary for the proper functioning of the package.
* no headers.
* no pkgconfig files.
* no static libraries.
* no libtool .la files.

[Bug 245081] Review Request: libp11 - a small library for dealing with PKCS#11 tokens

Summary: Review Request: libp11 - a small library for dealing with PKCS#11

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-06-21 12:34 EST ---
Thanks for the suggestions, I've updated the spec file and built a
libp11-0.2.2-2.src.rpm that is in the same directory as before.

I took your advice and got rid of %prerun and used the suggested %post and
%postrun command format.

The dash is fixed, and I put version numbers in the changelog as per the
guidelines.

I've added the html, README and ChangeLog files to the libp11 base package for
documentation.

I also created a libp11-devel package like you suggested and added the doc/api
directory along with the examples directory for the documentation there.

I looked for an example of a -static package, and wasn't able to find any.
Searching on my system I found several .a files that were registered in the
-devel packages so for now I did not create a -static. If anyone knows of an
example I could follow I will.

The libtool dependency should have really just been a BuildRequires
libtool-ltdl-devel since libp11 needs ltdl.h so I've removed it from Requires.

The libp11-0.2.2-2 rpm builds cleanly on x86_64 and i386. This time all four
rpms {base,-devel,-debuginfo,src} have been checked with rpmlint with no
warnings or errors found.

I could start cloning the ticket and mark duplicates to reset the reporter
field, but I think it's bureaucratic overkill. You lose the comment segmentation
and perhaps even the Cc fields. (it's been a while since I last cloned a bug in
this bugzilla, so I'm not sure about the Cc fields).

Even if it is not immediately evident who the submitter is a reviewer should not
care whether this is Jeff or me whom he ponders the package's faults on, and the
work flow of this particular ticket is rather natural: Someone asks for a new
package and it gets processed at the same place.

The worst that can happen is some bugzilla querying script counting one
submission more to Jeff than to me, I think we'll manage. :)

Anyway this package set (e.g. the submitted dependencies as well) seems to not
really stir interest even though it was specifically asked for - it's rottening
since more than half a year now. :/

Seems good to me :
built on Mock
rpmlint is silent
Package Guidelines seems to be followed except on two points :
If the package doesn't already include and install its own .desktop file, you
need to make your own, and include it as a Source
If upstream uses vendor_id, leave it intact, otherwise use fedora as
vendor_id

One more thing that needs to be done which I just noticed when I tried to cvs
update. All the CVS/Root files need to point to anon cvs instead of using
marco's CVSRoot.  :-)

I'll approve this if you untar the source, cd into the top source directory, and
run the following:

echo :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot  /tmp/cvschroot
find -path */CVS/Root | xargs -n1 cp -f /tmp/cvschroot
rm /tmp/cvschroot

Then re-tar it up. All upstream tarballs are set up with anoncvs, so we should
not break this.

we need to version with xulrunner-1.9-0.a5.5.cvs20070621 because final version
will be 1.9-1. This is a downgrade in versions from the fc6 olpc repo.
Solution is to remove the package from the fc6-olpc repo once this is in. the
fc6-olpc repo can be considered experimental as yum upgrades would produce
nonbootable machines anyway because of the way the repos were set up (we were
just learning how to make a branch project off of Fedora). It is better to
start fresh because of this.

I'm going through a lot of packages, having things lined up so that we get cvs
and approval in a timely manner is appropriate. This package is relatively
simple and passes all of the checklist on my local machine except of course the
multiarch one since there is little way I can test that without first being in
CVS. The mock build is a SHOULD. In any case the objective is to get clean
packages into Fedora and of the 37 odd packages that we have upgraded, branched
or created we have been doing that. Plus on this package I left it up to you to
review since you were the first to claim it. I simply went through the
checklist. I would rather have others do all of our packages but of course
there is a need to not block on lack of manpower.

So is this going to be usable for the other apps in fedora that currently
BuildRequire: firefox-devel ?

What olpc apps currently link static to this package?

Your version is slightly wrong... the 'cvs' should be at the end...
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/NamingGuidelines#head-d97a3f40b6dd9d2288206ac9bd8f1bf9b791b22a
and there should be another digit there I think.

So, 1.9-5.a5pre.cvs20070519.1 should be: 1.9-0.5.a5pre.20070519cvs

Since you are using a cvs checkout, can you include a comment on how to check
that exact version out ? See: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/SourceURL

So is this going to be usable for the other apps in fedora that currently
BuildRequire: firefox-devel ?

The current plan is to build it only on OLPC-2. Not sure what are caillon plans
for Fedora. It could be used that way potentially (keep in mind this is just a
pre release though).

 What olpc apps currently link static to this package?

Hulahop links statically, sugar use hulahop python bindings.

Your version is slightly wrong... the 'cvs' should be at the end...
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/NamingGuidelines#head-d97a3f40b6dd9d2288206ac9bd8f1bf9b791b22a
and there should be another digit there I think.

Thanks, I'll fix it before importing.

Since you are using a cvs checkout, can you include a comment on how to check
that exact version out ? See: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/SourceURL

We have a tarball on dev.laptop.org, is adding that as URL ok?

(In reply to comment #24)
 So is this going to be usable for the other apps in fedora that currently
 BuildRequire: firefox-devel ?

If anything requires firefox-devel it is a bug. They should require gecko-devel
which the firefox in rawhide provides and I made this package provide.
seamonkey provides it in the place where it is a build environment, and
xulrunner in rawhide/F8 will also provide it.

Upstream fixed the access issues to the sources. Here's an updated package with
the suggested fixes and updated to the latest version. I've also changed the
name to 'tcl-tcldict' to conform with the pending tcl naming guidelines.

Rainer, would it be possible for you in future to provide a download link in
such form so it would contain the tarball name and otherwise stayed the same
over version changes? If not, it is nothing critical but it is nice to be able
to use directly the source download URL in the package spec.

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-06-21 16:28 EST ---
Tomas,

no problem: the URL is just for me to track download numbers, not really
essential. The target url is always

http://download.adiscon.com/rsyslog/rsyslog-version.tar.gz

in the current case:

http://download.adiscon.com/rsyslog/rsyslog-1.13.4.tar.gz

Very early releases missed the /rsyslog path, which I got bashed for by my
webmaster ;)

I might be possible, though, that the url will change in the future. I think
I'll see if I can change the hostname to download.rsyslog.com, which would bring
us on the save side. I keep you posted when this happens (and for the forseable
future, both names will be valid).

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-06-21 16:32 EST ---
After some more reading I found that --disable-statics is preferred, along with
rpmdevtools' rpmdev-newspec template. I've made those changes and posted
updated files:

Spec URL: http://free.linux.hp.com/~mra/rpms/libp11/libp11.spec
SRPM URL: http://free.linux.hp.com/~mra/rpms/libp11/libp11-0.2.2-3.fc7.src.rpm
