SPEC URL: http://dhd.selfip.com/427e/skinlf-6.spec
SRPM URL: http://dhd.selfip.com/427e/skinlf-6.7-6.fc9.src.rpm

Seems good, however as I wrote in my comment 10 (and as you wondered)
since Clock.java must be removed from source zip file, the zip file
must be re-packaged.
Done.

rpmlint output is empty for spec, SRPM and RPM. I set the permissions on the
tarball generator to 644, so if you wish to use it, you have to set execute
permissions.

Issues at first sight:

- GPL is not a valid License shortname anymore
- SourceX files are not prefixed with %{name}: README.fedora, tconn
- The comment before the Version-tag does not apply anymore
- The patch should be commented with the explanation, that upstream is dead
- The correct SF.net Source0 URL is:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/%{name}/%{name}-%{version}-Beta.tar.gz
- It looks to me, that it contains libraries in %libdir, therefore these
scriptlets need to be run:
%post -p /sbin/ldconfig
%postun -p /sbin/ldconfig
If this is not needed, please explain why.

Imho the Source0: line is too obfuscated. I have filed a ticket at Fedora's
Infrastructure trac instance to make simpler URLs with macro usage possible:
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/1043

But this huge macro also makes spectool fail to download the Source0.

--- Comment #30 from Nicolas Chauvet (kwizart) [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-12-10
08:48:33 EDT ---
(In reply to comment #29)
...
 - I do not understand why the existing --disable-mmx is not satisfactory;
 maybe
 he meant --disable-sse2 instead of --disable-sse. But it seems to me all
 of
 MLT's usage of MMX is not acceptable to Fedora i386 policy, and I know some of
 it is not yet compatible with x86-64. So, it seems to me --disable-mmx should
 be fine as a global option regardless of architecture of the build.
We can build the library twice within one mlt.i386 package for i386. (that's
done with the atlas package for an example)
- one time with mmx sse sse2 disabled.
- one other time with mmx sse sse2 enabled. The resulting optimized library
will be moved in /usr/lib/sse2 and activated at runtime if the dynamic library
loader has detected the running cpu is sse2 capable.

For this feature to be enabled, we need to be sure nothing will hardcode the
libraries pathes, and that it will be correctly linked (not dlopened for
example).

 - I know nothing about multilibs.
That's a packaging level problem.

 - Re: - Have runtime tests to be done. What exactly does that mean? MLT
 already attempts to dlopen all so in lib/mlt.
That's really bad.
We are in $prefix/lib64/mlt on x86_64 ppc64 sparc64 (aka multilibs systems, so
not ia64).
It would be easier to use libtool-ltdl, but i don't know how to add support for
it easily with you current buildsys. Anyway, you should be able to tweak the
dlopening path to be correct.

Once that said, I'm not sure I can support one more split between mlt
non-ffmpeg enabled and mlt-freeworld ffmpeg enabled. Is there any package using
mlt that can be in Fedora once mlt is in ?

 Just some quick comments on your spec file

 - Don't mix $RPM_BUILD_ROOT and %{buildroot}

 https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/Guidelines#Using_.25.7Bbuildroot.7D_and_.25.7Boptflags.7D_vs_.24RPM_BUILD_ROOT_and_.24RPM_OPT_FLAGS

Done

 - URL is not the upstream URL. Why not pack the file together and make a
 proper release which is hosted on fedorahosted.org?
I put ZYpp url instead of fedoraproject.org, is that ok?

 - doc is empty. Is it necessary?

Removed %doc

 Zypper is not available for Fedora at the moment. Does it make sense to add
 *.repo files without the tool to use them?
This review depends on the core zypp components, due to our recent move to rpm
4.6 upstream has to port it to that specific version before we can include it
in Fedora. It makes sense to me to have the review sitting around until they
fix the build issues.

In the meanwhile, I am contacting the communities mentioned above to check if

--- Comment #6 from Till Maas [EMAIL PROTECTED]  2008-12-10 11:35:25 EDT ---
- The tools execves to gpg, therefore a Requires: gpg should be added
- The package contains a testsuite, please add this to the spec to run it:
%check
make tests
- Then you probably also need BuildRequires: gpg
- The package does not build on ppc(64):
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=991182
The problem is, that you have to run make without a target on ppc(64). You can
do this by defining a helper macro, e.g.

%define make_target %{nil}

%ifarch x86_64
%define make_target amd64
%endif

%ifarch %{ix86}
%define make_target x86
%endif

make %{?_smp_mflags} %{make_target}

- Also note the added %{?_smp_mflags}, which seem to work fine here.
- Have you thought about patching Makefile.in at upstream to use your install
commands instead of cp? Then you can use make install DESTDIR=%{buildroot}
beginning with next upstreams release. I can probably help you with this, if
you need help.

- Maybe you should use Source0: instead of Source:, but it seems not to cause
any trouble. I believe I have read some changes about Patch:/Patch0: with the
new rpm, but I have to check this.
- The guidelines recommend a  %defattr(-, root, root, -) instead of %defattr(-,
root, root, 0755), but I guess the latter is a better %defattr, but I have to
check this, too

I will try to make a complete review later.
