If you want to use macros then use all macros in spec. Use macro %{__rm} for rm
command also.

--- Comment #2 from Scott Seago   2009-07-23 01:04:04 EDT ---
OK this stuff should be resolved now:

Regarding the zero-length logfiles, comments added to the spec file explaining
why they're currently needed. Once we're no longer running any of the oVirt
daemons as root this can go away.

We've now got uid/gid 108 reserved and the specfile uses it.

Added BSD to the license field.

Upstream sources: This is a release candidate build to get reviewed by the
fedora deadline. For the next build on top of an upstream release we'll get the
full URL in. spec comment added to this effect.

$RPM_BUILD_ROOT, replaced with %{buildroot}.

Added 'Requires: ovirt-server' to ovirt-server-installer

Spec and SRPM are updated:

Spec URL: http://people.redhat.com/sseago/fedora/spec/ovirt-server.spec
SRPM URL:
http://people.redhat.com/sseago/fedora/SRPMS/ovirt-server-0.100-1.fc12.src.rpm

I tend to agree with lack of telnet and rsh, but I don't think that blocks the
package, more of a preference than anything, so not within scope of the package
review.

provides and requires looks sane:

   Summary: Review Request: boxbackup - A fast, secure and
automatic online backup system
   Product: Fedora
   Version: rawhide
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: medium
  Priority: medium
 Component: Package Review
AssignedTo: nob...@fedoraproject.org
ReportedBy: s.a...@diffingo.com
 QAContact: extras...@fedoraproject.org
CC: nott...@redhat.com, fedora-package-review@redhat.com
   Estimated Hours: 0.0
Classification: Fedora

Spec URL: http://firewing.fedorapeople.org/pub/SPECS/boxbackup.spec
SRPM URL:
http://firewing.fedorapeople.org/pub/SRPMS/boxbackup-0.11-0.1.rc2.20090721svn.fc11.src.rpm
Description:
Box Backup is a completely automatic on-line backup system. Backed up files
are stored encrypted on a filesystem on a remote server, which does not need
to be trusted. The backup server runs as a daemon on the client copying only
the changes within files, and old versions and deleted files are retained. It
is designed to be easy and cheap to run a server and (optional) RAID is
implemented in userland for ease of use.

i need to set up mock on f11 in order to recreate the rpmlint warnings.

as for the silent scripts, the guidelines implied (and my shell experience
says) that "exit 0" would work for this. i guess you're saying it does not?

(again, apologies -- i have not had a chance to do an actual test with the new
packages yet.)

> rpmlint now gives 0 warnings/0 errors -- however, my development machine is
> currently fedora 9. i did nothing for the "false positive" error that
> cwickert reported.

I still get warnings for the binary package:

$ rpmlint olpc-powerd-8-1.20090720git702fd8e.fc9.i386.rpm
olpc-powerd.i386: W: incoherent-version-in-changelog 8-1
['8-1.20090720git702fd8e.fc9', '8-1.20090720git702fd8e']
olpc-powerd.i386: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/bin/powerd-config

The latter is bogus, the first is rpmlint not accepting the your changelog
style. However according to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/Guidelines#Changelogs it is valid.

I have overlooked something, an issue from comment # 3 is still open:
- scriptlets should run silent. Add ||: at the end of the last command, so the
scripts will always return 0. If they return 1, rpm will abort the transaction.

Everything looks good with the exception of the compiler flags. You need to
pass the proper flags to the compiler at %build time, so that the two calls to
gcc have the proper flags. It doesn't go any good to pass those flags to the
"make install" call, because that just copies various files into place.

One last thing I have spotted: We also need to require upstart for initctl:
# these are all for the manipulation of powerd
Requires(post): upstart
Requires(postun): upstart
Requires(preun): upstart

I have tested the package on my XO 1 powerd works fine, keys work etc.

test case for scriptlets:
$ /etc/init.d/ohmd status
$ rpm -Ivvh olpc-powerd-8-1.20090720git702fd8e.fc9.i386.rpm
$ /etc/init.d/ohmd status
$ ps -A | grep powerd

Upgrade:
$ rpm -Uvvh olpc-powerd-8-1.20090720git702fd8e.fc9.i386.rpm --force
$ ps -A | grep powerd
 (other process id)
$ /etc/init.d/ohmd status

Removal:
$ rpm -evv olpc-powerd
$ ps -A | grep powerd
 (other process id)
$ /etc/init.d/ohmd status

-> works as it should.

The package is APPROVED

... but please don't forget to add the upstart requires after import.

OMG, sorry for the enormous delay.

No need to fully apply the patch, it's your package after all. And it's finally

APPROVED

Do you plan to maintain other packages in Fedora or do you just want to
maintain your package as the upstream developer? If so, I will sponsor you
right away, because I really think that we must enable upstream participating
in Fedora more easily. I suggest we co-maintain the package then, so I can help
you out.

If you would like do get involved in Fedora deeper and maintain more packages,
I would like you to participate in other reviews before I sponsor you. See
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/HowToGetSponsored#Reviewing_Packages
for how this works.

--- Comment #6 from Steve Traylen   2009-07-22 19:08:04

First Mamaro and Chris thanks for you comments.

The majority are addressed:

- Correct License to GPLv2+
- Move man5 pages to the devel package.
- Remove +x bit from create-munge-key source.
- Preserve timestamps when installing files.
- ldconfig not needed on -devel package.
- Do a condrestart when upgrading.
- Remove redundant files from docs.
- chmod /var/lib/munge /var/log/munge and /etc/munge to 700.
- Apply patch to not error when GPL_LICENSED is not set.
- Patch service script to print error on if munge.key not present
  on start only and with a better error.
- Remove dont-exit-form-lib.patch. munge is expecting libmunge to
  do this.
- Remove libgcrypt-devel from BuildRequires, uses openssl by
  default anyway.
- Mark the munge.key as a ghost file.

Remaining items

1) I need to check what is going on the compilation flags. I'll get
   to this shortly.

2) Reading the Summary: specification again it is meant to be informative
   so neither
   Uid 'N' Gid Emporium
   nor
   MUNGE is a recursive acronym

  is very good.

  For now I've set it to
  "Enables uid & gid authentication across a host cluster"
  but that is not particularly descriptive either? Will have a think.

They can all be explained I feel as mostly private directories

SRPM URL:
http://rrati.fedorapeople.org/condor-ec2-enhanced-hooks-1.0-14.fc10.src.rpm
Description:
The EC2 Enhanced feature allows for near seamless translation of Condor jobs
in the standard universe to condor EC2 jobs in the grid universe. For all
intents and purposes, the job runs as any standard universe job runs except
on an Amazon EC2 AMI instance.

This package provides Condor job router hooks that will translate a job into
a Condor EC2 job and monitor the state of that job. This should be installed
on condor nodes that will submitting work and wish to use the EC2 Enhanced
feature.
