Hi there,

I am sorry, we do not offer any liveCDs in the i386, just i686 and
x86_64 ( regardless of gnome or kde ).

I am not certain of the details, but believe this to be a technical
limitation and not policy decision. ( Some one please correct me if I
am wrong. )

Certainly do not mean to nitpick ( I thinks its awesome what you are
doing...), however I do not believe the above url is going to work out
so well for the group as a whole to track meeting times. Also, I see
no link to it now, but we *had* a matrix for this:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Websites/Meetings/Matrix

( not ideal, but seems to be the standard way among other fedora projects ).

See ya on IRC,

This is the proper place:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Websites/Meetings/Matrix

I have updated it, and entered my info.

I am not sure how to use the wiki tag above? how de we enter 'i can
attend' data? I have searched the internets and our wiki?

I used the markup from wiki/India/meeting_matrix as it seemed to me to
be the most cleanly done.

To be perfectly candid, I agree with you and feel conflicted about the
work I have done on this idea /page. As a user, I resist things
moving around the screen and disappearing ... it makes me nervous.
Yet, the basic design of the page seemed to call for it and I feel
like I just followed the idea to it's conclusion. On the other hand, I
think this idea shows off Fedora's offerings in terms of .iso choices.

The above is simple and elegant, things I think Fedora is also. It's
more in line with the rest of our content. ( a little sparse, but I
am thinking we would add the right hand column? )

Both seem like huge improvements over the current get-fedora page, and
as our goal is to improve the current user experience I think having
as many ideas out there to work from can only improve the end result.

What do others think?

I had been collaborating with Juan Prada on a draft of one of his
ideas prior to Fudcon. I know there were other ideas floating around
and that some usability testing has happened since then.

We also, as a group, had a goal of 'one click to download' Fedora,
besides the general improvement to get-fedora.

I beleive the following threads are were our progress slowed to it's
current state:

https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-websites-list/2008-May/msg00094.html

https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-websites-list/2008-May/msg00032.html

and

https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-websites-list/2008-May/msg00053.html

the .drawing/attached pdf in mo's post is of particular interest as it
is a very good idea for the get-fedora page.

Me either... However, I can get the bar to obscure text, but never as
'high' or 'far' up in the legalese; even though my font has been
increased 5-6x and is clearly larger than the screen shot.

And wow, the page really breaks with an increased font size, with
regard to the lower right corner. The blue/black in that corner no
longer align at all ... I think somehow it's the #footer's
bottom-border: 10px ( the blue bar ), but I don't have a solution yet.

I am surprised no one responded to this post, and I don't think we are

My name is next to this one and I am not sure what our plan is? what
are we planning to do to improve this? I am happy to work on anything
we decide on/want to see, offer opinions or do mockups...Let's make
'getting fedora' better. I have read this, but I am not sure what we

I think it's the right path, and I think we still need you to bust
trail :) I will bring up item 1 in the next meeting, but don't know
anything about 2 other than it was to be a web app of sorts, and not
just a set of static pages.

Hi,

Ahh, that's a big zarro results from me :(

( ...i can implement someone's pretty pictures, but, man, I hope we
are not relying on my design skills for this? :-) fedora deserves
better than that !

If there are known things/designs that we would like to see, even just
to see or start from, I am happy to point my efforts at implementing
them, but I don't know of anything awaiting 'building' ?

I was away during fudcon; what happened with our usability testing of
our website? have i missed that post on list ?

Cheers,

I won't be able to attend, this time slot no longer works for me
(since the kids are out of school I am in the middle of a
commute/pickup)

I was convinced this was broken but looking now with FF2/3 Fedora 8/9
it seems to work, and avoid the scrolling bug.

Can others report back?

Thanks,

Woot ! that's awesome news.

I have taken a quick peek at our CSS and our problems stem from our
main fedora.css file, #wrapper has overflow: auto

Maybe for planet we can work around that somehow, but I have tried the
easy fixes and they have stopped the scrolling bug from happening, but
break the look and feel. (

I'll be poking at other options this weekend and will post my progress
to the list.

Hi Jon,

I posted an e-mail /link in April that i think may help with a) :

https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-websites-list/2008-April/msg00039.html

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/CraigThomas/PersonalGitRepo

Note Ricky's response concerning ACLs and commit access for others.
