Yum! And the choices for Population Control Pate can be Burglar Beef in Gravy,
Rapist Shreds and  WifeBeater Bits all formulated for nutritional balance by
Friskems Criminal Cat Food Company. And for the fat cat who really loves
Premium Food at a high price, you can have Politician Pate and Pork Barrel Pork.

What a great idea, and not just naturally deceased humans for cat
food, but child molesters, rapists, etc. Entirely too many humans
are degenerates who would make excellent cat chow!!

Did someone mention that Royal Canin grinds up chicken feathers as the protein
source in their very expensive cat food? Sheesh! Well, it can't be too bad. My
grandmother used to have a liberal topping of chicken feathers in her chicken
soup throughout my childhood. The cats didn't seem to mind it.

[Felvtalk] Ember-blood work concerns

2013-09-13 Thread Lance
It's been a little while since I've posted about my 11 yro FeLV+ girl, Ember.
We did blood work for her in late May, and her BUN and lipase levels were
elevated. Creatinine was still within normal limits. Did a urine test, and she
was concentrating her urine just fine.

Yesterday, I took her in for skin problems she's having, which the doc thinks
is dermatitis. We also ran blood work on her. Her BUN is now 45 (was 39),
creatinine still normal, lipase high, and her triglycerides are now high. I
don't have numbers for everything, but the blood work results should arrive
this weekend.

I will probably collect urine next week to test specific gravity again.
Otherwise, I'm not sure of what to do. The doc says elevated lipase indicates
pancreatitis in dogs, but isn't quite as definitive in cats. I did a little
reading earlier, and I saw something about adding digestive enzymes to food,
and that this might help with the lipase and triglyceride levels. Has anyone
done this? Also, has anyone seen high BUN with normal creatinine and good
specific gravity?

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Lance

dsHavven' done it for my cats for this reason, but added Forti flora for Csey

I used to use RC extreme hairball as a treat, but worried about the chicken
feathers, also they do have grains in some of their foods and since we are all
