I volunteer with a rescue that has taken in cats from a hoarding case.
Some have tested FeLV+. One of the cats that tested negative and is
awaiting a retest is a cocoa colored cat. He is all brown. I have never
seen a cat like this in person. Anyway, his name was Reuben and we are
searching for a better name. The possibilitties so far are Cocoa,
Chocolate Boy, and Whitman, none of which I care for.
If anyone can think of a name for a chocolate colored cat, can you
please let me know. You can email me off list if you want.
And please keep your fingers crossed he retests negative.

Re: Chocolate cat needs a name

2007-02-19 Thread Marylyn
They really will tell you and, if you give them the name they want, they will
be very happy and proud. I asked 3 ACs to ask Dixie what she wanted for a
name. One bombed (apparently Dixie was not interested in talking to her at
all); the other two came up with names they didn't even want to tell me about.
Individually they didn't work at all but Dixie and I played with them and got
Dixie Louise. I asked her months later about her birthday.all I
could hear was the chorus to "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy" modified to "I'm a
Dixie Doodle Dandy."She got the 3rd name she asked for -- Dixie Louise
Doodle Katt-- and her birthday is a national holiday. We really need to
listen to our four legged friends.

I hope all of yours are doing well.

I volunteer with a rescue that has taken in cats from a hoarding
case. Some have tested FeLV+. One of the cats that tested negative and is
awaiting a retest is a cocoa colored cat. He is all brown. I have never seen a
cat like this in person. Anyway, his name was Reuben and we are searching for a
better name. The possibilitties so far are Cocoa, Chocolate Boy, and Whitman,
none of which I care for.
If anyone can think of a name for a chocolate colored cat, can you
please let me know. You can email me off list if you want.
And please keep your fingers crossed he retests negative.

Do you think this kitty may be a Havana Brown breed?
Maybe a play on Havana, or Cuba, or Cuba Gooding Jr,

If he's "just" a chocolate brown cat, then how about:

I'm going to stick up for this chocolate boy and say, I like the name
Reuben! It's dignified and unusual. :)

However, Lindt comes in close second, just because it sounds like "lint" and
that's very funny to me right now.okay, time for the coffee!

Reuben might still be an appropriate name. Any one watch American Idol.
Reuben Stoddard won a couple years ago. If the cat is a rolly polly then the
