Re: OT: Feline Acne, Pramoxine HCI shampoo
I'm glad to hear that Mythic is doing better - bless his dear little chin. I'm laughing about the food 24/7...if I let the bowls get too low - I get a 22lb hellion pouncing on my tummy in the middle of the night :0) Cat's are such wonderful creatures. Hopefully it will clear up, because he's IMPOSSIBLE to live with without an auto feeder, he MUST have food, 24/7, or there's hell to pay! LOL! If worse comes to worse, I suppose I could wrap the bowl part his chin touches with aluminum foil. PhaewrynAre you looking for a metal gravity feeder, if so, I found one for under $8.00 online: http://www.petcarecentral.com/wa-00705.htmlGina[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: In a message dated 8/15/2006 1:59:50 PM Pacific Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: His auto feeder is plastic... come to think of it, it's been months since I let it completely empty and actually washed it with soap. Wash it good...it should be done everytime you replace the water and food in it. If anything if you stay on top of it with the cleaning Feline Acne may go away. I do know plastic does give some cats reactions. I have had kitties get Feline Acne too. I have found when I wash the plastic dishes/feeders everytime I put fresh water and food it tends to subside sometime. You may want to try ceramic dishes. I use ceramic for wetfood. Do they make metal auto feeders? I have seen themthey are too expensive for my blood. Sorry can't be of any help on this. Re: OT: Feline Acne, Pramoxine HCI shampoo
Are you feeding him with plastic bowls for food and water? In most cases this will cause Feline Acne on the chin. In a message dated 8/14/2006 7:23:52 PM Pacific Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Anyone know if Relief shampoo with Pramoxine HCI and Colloidal Oatmeal would be good for feline acne? I just noticed Doobie's chin is absolutely FESTERING right now, and all I have on hand is Mythic's allergy shampoo. Is there anything OTC I could get for the acne on Doobie's chin, something from the local drug store? I can't afford another vet visit right now, and I'm sure it's acne. I tried to squeeze some of it out, but it's too painful, so I scrubbed it with the shampoo, got most of the black goo off, now he's just pink, and oozy looking.
