yes you can
or you can just backport them in a public git repo and post a link
to the git branch to be merged.

Hi,

I had some code accepted on the master branch and I was wondering if
they'd be suitable for inclusion in the 2.6 branch. I'd like them in
the next version of xmbc. The commits were:
