Art,

It was an original show with recent sketches with Bobby and his
adult son.
Cloning? Egads man, don't even ~think~ it.

I have to admit I haven't seen the show since we got a color X-Mozilla-Status: 0009

Come to think of it, is that the original L. Welk, or have they been
 cloning him? ;-)

Frank,

I am using an older HP 1120C. I don't have that feature in my
printer driver. I know I need a new printer, but the film
scanner was more important. Most of my work goes directly to
the printer on a ZIP disk, the printer isn't critical. Yet.

I'm a little confused by this thread and it makes me wonder if I'm doing
 something wrong.

Gordon,

That is exactly what I did, I just didn't mention that I had
scanned it, then manipulated it in Picture Publisher.

I can't remember where I read it, maybe scantips.com, but would
the fact that I have several copies loaded into memory for the
UNDO function have anything to do with it? I will go have a
looksee, I just remembered that ...

Guy: I also am new at this, have an LS-30, and a system with much less capacity
than yours. I have found (through trial and error) that the system handles the
scan better if you scan at 2700 set at the original negative size, then play
with it in a processing package like Photoshop. When I print it from that file
at around 300 ppi at the 7 x 10 size, Windows does not seem to get frustrated.

was clear that my old PIII 600 with ultra-wide scsi wasn't
going to be enough). Well, Win98 said I didn't have enough
memory to make a 5 x 7 image. I was actually shocked and did
some digging around in my memory to see if any unnecessary
 programs were loaded. No.
I have 256mb of ram and 1.6 gigs free on my swap file drive
 (c:).

I guess I should knock it back down to 1350 or 1200, that
 seems to give me a 4 x 6 print and 5 x 7 okay.

Anyone who watches (and worse still, listens to) Lawrence Welk should be
forced to sit in the garage and freeze his *(*@ off, IMHO. ;-)

And I don't believe you could find 5 people in the same district who
would watch that show, so you don't need all the sofa space, so just buy

Hello Johnny,

   AHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAH, you SAW IT

Wasn't that the best show ever?

Yes, the woman who sung "when I wish upon a star" was a true gift.

If anyone out there taped that episode, I would pay ... for the
   tape.

My wife and I sat glued to the during the entire show. Even
   through Bobby's set.

Lawrence Welk and C.W. "Butch" Wells' dutch oven and camp cooking
show is all my weekend needs.

Wow, some very informative information here.

I have been running Viewsonic's products for years. And
buying them for our small company. I am sure
you can do better, but how much more are you willing to spend?
I can't use the Sony monitors, or any other brand that uses
the Trinitron tube. They have two visible stripes running
horizontally across the middle of the monitor. Although, that
was a while back, they may have removed those. But when you
are spending time pouring over editing your photos, the last
thing you want is two stripes right in the middle of it all.

I have also been buying the Matrox G400 max. Yeah, that
360mhz RAMDAC is awesome for 2D work.

If you can find a cool local dealer, maybe they would be
willing to let you try a few out. See what YOU think.

The two horizontal lines on Trinitron monitors are intrinsic to the design
and as far as I know will always be there. I know, it is a nuisance. I'm
always mistaking them for a scratch on the film, for that's just about what
they look like. I prefer the black matrix tubes, because the best of them
provide sufficient color saturation and contrast for image editing and
viewing, and generally are better for reading text. If you have very sharp
eyes, the vertical aperture grill on Trinitron will also be visible to you
and could be bothersome unless the display is very sharply focused, as are
our Sun monitors. Basically, they are so sharp that I am willing to put up
with the visibility of the aperture grill. I haven't seen the .22 aperture
grill versions. That should be narrow enough so you can't see it, but I can
definitely see it on the .24 versions from 18".

Some Viewsonic monitors are very expensive, some aren't. Depends on what you
want and the bandwidth you want.
