filmscanners: Re: Minolta Multi Pro with negs

Firstly, the question of Vuescan and the Minolta Multi
Pro. I, and others, have found that in practical terms
Vuescan does not work with the MSMP and firewire under
W2k. But apparently it works well with SCSI
connection.

Secondly, the MSMP native software seems to do a
pretty good job with colour negative film, although
you might have to fiddle a little with curves. Vuescan
is supossed to do a good job, too.

It works fine with Firewire. The trick is to put the dsscan.inf
file from my web site into c:\windows\inf (or c:\winnt\inf) and
then reload the driver.

Ed

This works once, but there are two unfortunate side
effects:

1. Every time that Vuescan is closed the driver seems
to need to be reloaded before Vuescan can be run
again.

2. The Minolta software crashes after loading the new
driver, and needs to be reinstalled.

I know of one other user who has experiened exactly
the same problem.
