Makes it alot easier than futzing with the shape designer stuff, but do

Set Music Spacing to clear manual adjustments, and then execute the
music spacing command (Select all with selection tool, hit 4).

This will NOT, however, shift notes that have been moved to allow for
another voice a second below, then the lower voice was removed or
changed to another interval. I don't know why there is this blank in
the music spacing options.

Re: [Finale] moving rests

2009-09-11 Thread Christopher Smith

Two tactics.

First of all, the Layer Options can be set for the document to
automatically shift rests by a certain number of steps up or down.
You might save a lot of tweaking by setting these to something other
than the default up 6 for layer 1 and down 6 for layer 2, especially
if the piece is particularly low or high.

Second of all, just click and drag the rest in Speedy Entry to shift
it. You have to be in the correct layer, but that is trivial. After
an hour or so of this, you will be searching for default settings
(see above) that allow you to avoid this.

In Speedy, hitting * while the cursor is on the rest will remove any
shifting you have done, either manually or by default.
