Re: [Finale] font question part 2

Dwight -

What other encoding choices are offered in FontXChange? I'm not sure
the Adobe encoding is the best choice.

You will need to get TypeTool or something like that to encode it
using Mac, or using trial and error to find one that works.

With your advice I was able to get the converted font to work (both
TrueType and OpenType) on the Mac side (using Adobe Standard
Encoding) using the same FontXChange program - but I'm still stuck
on the Windows side.

I have a pretty rudimentary setup on the Windows side (I use XP Pro
Parallels on my MacPro). The converted fonts show up OK in
Windows itself but not in the 2010 Finale Reader.

Here are the options:

Leave Encoding Unchanged
Automatically Choose Best Encoding

Adobe Standard Encoding
Macintosh Standard Encoding (MacRoman)
Windows Standard Encoding (ANSI)
Unicode Encoding (ISO 10646-1)

and 4 Latin encodings that I'm sure won't work for this...

The TrueType and OpenType fonts I created that work show up as
different fonts from the original on the Mac side.

On the Windows side I get all sorts of encoding errors...

Yup didn't intend to trim that much. Mea culpa.

Nope. Not how it works at MM. QA is indeed separate from customer
support. Has been as long as I can remember.

Good to know.

I do wish you'd quoted more carefully. What I actually wrote was:

If I'm right that the Finale QA team is the same team that
provides
   tech support,

I doubt that you trimmed that intentionally, but I don't like being
misquoted here, as it implies I said something I didn't.
