Is this happening on Macs and PCs or only on Macs?
Sounds scary.
Sibelius, anybody?

There are 2 solutions for this, VMware Fusion 3 and Parallels Desktop 4.
But they officially only allow to run Mac OS X Server as guest OS.
This is because Apple only allows virtualization of the server version.

However, there are some hacks to get the desktop version running in a
VM, but there's no official support for it.

Thankyou Robert. If I enter the notes between stages 2 & 3 and choose "Hold
notes to original pitches" when I change the key sig in stage 3, the
accidentals all appear as if by magic! Brilliant.

What's the recommended procedure for setting up a keyless horn

if that's

possible.

I sent a similar reply a while back, but I never saw it come thru.

For music without a key sig, use Chromatic Transposition.

For must with a key sig. use standard Transposition as follows:

1. Set the horn staves to Independent Key Signature.
2. Set the horn staves to F Transposition.
3. Set the key signature of the Horn staves to F Major throughout,
irrespective of the true key(s) of the piece.

That will do it.

Re: [Finale] OT: Virtual Mac OS X

2009-11-08 Thread Darcy James Argue
I don't think there's a virtual solution, but it's entirely possible
to boot a Mac from an external FW drive using a different version of
the OS. I have 10.6 on my laptop's internal HD, but if I need to run
10.5, I just reboot from the 10.5 drive.

I realized that even if I go back to Dell (or other PC vendor) some

want to do the same with Mac OS. If one could run Mac OS virtually,
one could maintain a Leopard install for things like CocoaBooklet
while running any future version on the actual machine. Does anyone
know of a virtual solution?

I haven't tracked the cause down yet.

I applied the 2010A updater. After that, the program crashes
whenever

I
try to enter notes with speedy edit.

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

I guess I'll have to wipe out the installation and go back to a fresh
install of the base system.

Is this handy feature really goneor just implemented
