Re: [Finale] Chord suffix placement

2010-04-24 Thread Christopher Smith
[grumble] Yes, you have edit EACH AND EVERY stupid suffix in the tiny
Chord Suffix Edit window, lowering each character by the required
amount. As an alternative, you could find the same character in a
different font (I noticed that the JazzCord sharps, for example, have
way different default heights from the Jazz sharps, though they look
very similar in every other way) and test it out to see if it helps.

I did this once, and it took me a week to do my entire library. I
still didn't like the result perfectly (I was nudging items left and
right, too.)

Alas, that works for everything *except* the sharps and flats.

But if I want, say, an Eb-7(b5), the b in Eb is WAY too high, and I
can't figure out how to move it.

Oh THAT! That's not part of the suffix! I thought you meant the b in
b5. which IS part of the suffix.

You find this in Doc OptionsChordsChord Alteration Baseline
Adjustment sharps flats and naturals. Edit this once to change it for
EVERY instance in the document. Easy.

Carl -

Look at Chords in the Doc Options and you'll find 3 boxes that will
allow you to adjust the baselines of accidentals (alterations) on
chords. Lower the number for the flat and see if that solves this
issue for you.
