These guys are not doing well;-( What on earth does this have to do with MM? If you're using a Windows operating system younger than 10 years with stable drivers, it's not possible for an application to crash a PC. An application can only crash within its own protected memory space. Drivers are at a level where they can crash the computer (such as my previous NVIDIA drivers did before my last driver update), and the ASIO driver specification is extremely low level but not even designed by Microsoft. It's not MM's job to configure your computer properly with stable drivers. Best regards, Jari Williamsson ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
Re: [Finale] Finale mac 2012 HELP
Linda, For changing the MIDI tracks - do you mean send patches before play that used to be in the Instrument Window and now is in the Playback/Record options Window in the Playback Controls Window? If that box is not checked, all your instruments will play piano only and not the individual patches they are set for. They look great, but I keep coming across things that don't work, or that don't work the same way I'm used to. A couple of them have me completely hung up. 1) I can no longer find any Instrument List to change internal instruments (I use them for checking only). 2) I need to change the MIDI files of each track in order to create a standard MIDI file that can then be opened with all the tracks as separate staves. How do I do that in 2012? I've been doing this for decades without a hitch and suddenly don't have a clue! 3) a lot of text blocks (both attached to page and attached to measure) will not show up with the little handle that lets me move them, delete them, open them etc. I have had to delete measures to get rid of unwanted or screwed up text blocks and then re entered the music for those measures (PAIN!) AND 4) The text too will not do what it has always done. In 2010 when I double clicked anywhere on the score it allowed me to create a text block. Now... nothing. Sometimes it works, but it usually doesn't. Where did I go wrong. Any help on any of these issues and I'm a friend for life! [Finale] An answer for Jari
Hi! This is a known bug to MM. I really do know what I'm doing MAC or PC. This is a really severe bug as I've never before experienced. The new 6K box my kind school has provided to me was initially not set up with all of the latest drivers. I had been gradually doing this when I noticed that the AUDIO SETUP was unstable. Well, I found out that the CREATIVE soundcard and its associated apps needed updating. As soon as I did this 2012 would freeze the machine to the point that no usual recovery was possible at all. I did an un/re-install to no effect. It was after 5 on a Friday when I decided the whole process with regedit was not what I wanted to do. I've sent in a report as the report on MM referred to M-Audio external ASIO devices. At one time a deletion of a PREF file would solve the problem. And yes, IT IS THEIR PROBLEM;-) Henry Howey Sent from my iWhatever ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

So you upgraded the drivers for Creative which started to freeze Fin2012, and this would be MM's problem?
