[Finale] Add melody an octave higher

2013-11-28 Thread Jan Angermüller
Is there a plugin that adds to a melody the
same melody one octave below (or above) in the
same voice/layer with more or less one click ?
(e.g. for writing strings in octaves)

Thanks a lot for your hints,
Jan

Use the transposition tool and check 'keep original notes'. That may not be
the exact dialog; I don't have Finale open, but it's more or less one click.

ah, thanks, that's easy. That option has never caught my eye before.

[Finale] editing chord symbols enharmonically

2013-11-28 Thread John Witmer
Sorry if this message is a repeat; I got lost in the ether.

In editing Christmas music for amateur singers (and pianists), I have to
transpose many
songs to fit the range of elder singers. In some keys this produces results
such as double flats
that are difficult for many amateurs to read. Even though the double flats are
technically correct,
is there some way to keep (or change) the chord symbols to their enharmonic
equivalent?
I use Finale '12.

2013-11-28 Thread Chuck Israels
Chord Tool Menu - Simplify Spelling often takes care of most of this.
