Well, all I can tell folks are the things that seem important to me.

I’ve seen the other “handwritten” fonts, and I see attractive aspects to many 
of the symbols, but my mind rebels agains any computer imitation of 
handwriting. It knows full well all the symbols are identical and done by a 
machine, so what’s the point of pretending they’re not? 

So — I’m happy enough with Maestro and Engraver and Bill’s extras, and grateful 
for how much Bill did for the look of my music. Grateful to Jari Williamson too!

And I too think I paid too much for what isn’t much of an improvement over 
Finale 25.

Thanks, Chuck - you're right. There are some problems with the Jazz 
articulations, too. The tenuto has a blob on it, the staccato doesn’t space 
properly, and the fermata is just plain ugly.

 

I should have spent that $150 on the Bill Duncan set instead of Finale 26.

font articulations with Maestro looks awful and that discrepancy was why Bill 
made the articulations (for Greg Hamilton and me).

unhappy to lose the things mentioned above and the use of the chord font for

You would need to edit the category for your tempo marks and select what staves 
you want them to appear on.  You probably need to edit your staff list to check 
your desired staves to show.

[Finale] Tempo Mark Placements

Greetings…

This seems like a silly question, but I can’t figure out, so maybe I’m the 
silly one…

I’ve got a piano-vocal score I’m working on and I’d like to have the tempo 
indications print above the vocal line AND above the piano line.  Right now 
they’re only above the vocal line.  Is there an easy way to get them on both of 
those staves?

Girard, why don't you use the free Elbsound Music Font Package for Finale?
25 music fonts including four alternative jazz fonts - all 100% 
compatible with Maestro.

LijazFIN looks very similar to JazzFont.
As the fonts are fully compatible you can even use "Set Default Music 
Font" to change the font (see
