Re: [Finale] Accidental Bug
About the original subject, under my opinion, it isn't really a bug: if you imagine the situation between two different measure in different staves (last measure and first one), for G# you would see at the begin of new system a G tied to another (natural) G instead a G#. My opinion is to repeat always the alteration between altered tied notes on different measures: I do it using cautionary accidentals plug-in but it can't remove the redundant accident: this is really an annoying bug! Giovanni Doro - Original Message - From: John Bell [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: finale@shsu.edu Sent: Monday, July 11, 2005 3:30 AM Subject: [Finale] Accidental Bug [FinMac 2005b] There's a really annoying bug in Finale that's been there for years. When a note with an accidental is tied to the next bar and then tied again to another note in this same bar, the final note is given a redundant accidental. For example, in 4/4: whole note with accidental tied to half note tied to eighth note. I reported this to Finale some years ago and they acknowledged that it was a bug but have never fixed it. I'm so used to it that I automatically hit * in these situations to hide the unwanted accidental. Except when I forget. Sometimes they escape my proof- reading, and are I believe rather confusing for the players as well as being plain wrong. Re: [Finale] 12/8 to 4/4
Ryan, I think you have three options: simply select to display the time signature 12/8 as 4/4 (in time signature); change time signature to 4/4 and then select in mesure tool position notes evenly across measure; ask for a plug-in to Tobias Giesen to reduce note durations. Bets regards. I need the eighth-notes in 12/8 to convert automatically to triplets in 4/4. I'd rather not have to create all the triplets after I change the meter. Hope someone can help - Thanks! Ryan Yahoo! Re: [Finale] Expressions
There is a very useful utility called Quickeys: you can program a key character to run one shortcut, or a sequence of operations, in real time too. You'll can save a lot of time. I haven't EVER been able to make a metatool-assigned expression obey staff lists. How do you do this? Re: [Finale] Philip Aker's TE plug in
Hi Cecil, I can remember your first dictionary; my one use the classic rules for Latin hyphenation; often they are not applicated from professional engravers that prefer to use a more generic Italian hyphenation for Latin too. I'll send you privately via e-mail Latin 2.2.hyp. I still work on Latin text for music works, I think to send you next update in the future. Let me know any good news about Philip. I still use the plugin quite frequently on an OLD PowerPC.. it still has its uses! (I export the text results and continue on in PC, tho, I admit.) All that to say I'd love to have a copy of any Latin dictionary that's been updated for the plugin! best to all-- Cecil Rigby [EMAIL PROTECTED] (personal) www.harrockhall.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] Giovanni Doro wrote: I'd like to develope his good work but I can't. Re: [Finale] Philip Aker's TE plug in
Hope I can send this to mailing list. Let me know if it isn't. Well Bernard, Actually I have found a good way to resolve my problem: in the past I had a long correspondance with Philip and I've found an old link that works to download the last version of TE : http://idisk.mac.com/philip_aker/Public/textutils152.sit. Some days ago Hans Swinnen helped me sending his copy of TE; I want to regreat you and Hans for your sollicitude. As for the 7 days you must wait for responde, I'm waiting from 15 days. We are sincerely worried for Philip: hope he changed his job but I don't think so. Let me know any news about him! I'd like to develope his good work but I can't. The only think I can do is to offer you a new update of Latin dictionary. Let me know! Many thanks to all, friends! Maybe is that the problem...? Sure you know the site: http://homepage.mac.com/philip_aker/plugins.html Sorry, apparently I can't help you. Or else tell me how...
