Good morning, everyone... Is anyone using a LaserJet 5000 with Windows 8? I'm having a host of driver issues. I want to print at 1200 DPI out of PCL6 or PS. The Universal Print Drivers max out evidently at 600 dpi.
The PCL 6 driver I got off Windows Update has a host of problems, including a setting in the "EFFECTS" area that automatically resets whatever paper size I want to letter with no ability for the user to override. Is there perhaps a driver for a different HP printer that will work with Windows 8 and let the 5000 do all it can do? AND: I eventually want to acquire a duplexer for the 5000--anyone have one or know someone who wants to part with one? Not much online. Maybe I better wait until I see if Windows 8 will even allow use of the duplexer on the 5000. Thanks... Jim James C. Williams, MBA, CFP E. B.
