To program staff sets: 1) while in Staff Tool, select all the staves you want to have in a particular staff set. Be sure to select the handles at the start of each staff, and NOT the handles at the end of each staff's name. 1a) you can click and drag a rectangle around the staff handles you want to select as long as they are contiguous 1b) you need to shift-click the staff handles if you want staves which are not next to each other in the score 2) ctrl-click the VIEW menu, then select Program Staff Set, then choose which staff set you want to program with the staves you've selected. 3) done. The next time you click the View Menu / Staff Sets you'll be able to select the staff set(s) you've programmed that way. -- * David H. Thanks! To get rid of any staff sets (which only apply in scroll view so be sure you're in scroll view), ctrl-click View and in the Program Staff Sets dialog, click on whichever already-defined set you want to get rid of and it becomes undefined as a staff set. -- * David H. Re: [Finale] staff sets
Hi Haroldo, In Fin/mac, go to the staff tool in scroll view and select the staves you want to assign to the staff set. Then go to View menu>Staff Sets. Each "Select Staff Set" option becomes "Program Staff Set" with the option key, On Thu, Sep 7, 2017 at 5:46 AM, Haroldo Mauro wrote: > How do I deselect a staff set, other than creating a new one with the same > shortcut of a previous set, so that I would have no staff sets, as in a new > document? How do I deselect a staff set, other than creating a new one with the same shortcut of a previous set, so that I would have no staff sets, as in a new document? Thanks! Re: [Finale] Staff sets
Chord symbols that have been dragged or nudged out of their default position can be easily restored to default. Go to the Chord Tool, Select All (cmd-A) if you want to do it with all of them, or simply drag around the ones you want to change. Hit the Clear button. This will only work if you HAVE a Clear key, which most laptops don’t. Otherwise, you can go to the Utilities Menu>Change>Chords… and select Add To Default Position… zero, and hit Okay. For Staff Sets, go to the Staff Tool. Command-click each of the right-hand staff handles you want to add to the set. Then go to the View Menu>Staff Sets> and hold down the Alt key to change Select into Program. Choose one of the numbers. This only works in Scroll View, as that is the only place Staff Sets makes a difference.
