Re: [Finale] inserting .gif's
Using whatever graphics program you choose to convert the .gif to .tif, there should be an Options button in the save dialog which allows you to select the sort of compression you wish to use (or no compression, if you wish). One of those compressions should say FAX. If it isn't there, then simply save the .tif without any compression and it should import just fine. David H. In other words, inserting an image file from your computer, such as a scanned signature? Not a GIF, but you can insert a TIF or EPS. Select the Graphics tool and double-click in Page View where you want the graphic to appear. The catch with TIF files is that they can't be saved with LZW compression, which is a common way of saving those files to save space. So you'll need to use a graphics program to make sure the TIF is saved as uncompressed. (If your TIF is straight black and white, like a signature, you can also save it with Fax compression, which Finale will recognize. This helps keep the file size down.) Re: [Finale] inserting .gif's
In 2006 you could use the Graphics Menu. The manual says Place EPS, TIFF or WMF (Windows Metafiles) graphics into your score (in Scroll or Page View), and assign them to a measure, a page, or a range of pages. I don't know how to manage .gif files. Maybe 2008 has improved this matter?
