Hi Jef,

What type of database software?

I know I can do it the old way with Staff Styles, but I like the one-step 
solution of the Change Instrument command, provided I can edit the file so the 
default is Chromatic Transposition for my most frequently-used instruments.

i used SQLite Database Browser 2.0 b1, freeware as i recall

before you do anything, i probably don't need to tell *you* this, but 
make a copy of the original and keep it somewhere
