Re: [Finale] Text Block cross-wired

2007-05-05 Thread Michael Cook

I haven't encountered this bug myself, but I wonder if this would work:

Create a new, duplicate expression. Replace all instances of the
buggy expression with the new one, then delete the buggy one. Then
correct the part name if necessary.

And complain, complain, complain to Makemusic!

Best wishes,

Michael

Arrgh. Fin07 is SO buggy. I combined several scores using copy
paste (so I can extract the parts). Now I have an expression and a
Part Name sharing the same text block. Has anyone else seen this?
What's the best way to fix it?

Hi Robert and other dear Finalisti, I can confirm this weird
behavior... (2007c, Mac OS X 10.4.9)

However this sharing of texts appears not only when combining via
copy paste...
It also jumps out of the blue as soon as I create parts (and only in
the parts, not in the score).
A text block title is very often substituting the abbr. part names,
very annoying...

I could not get rid of this phenomenon so I found myself creating new
docs and pasting
everything into them. This is very time consuming and really
unacceptable.

Regards,

Jan Melaerts.

This sounds like a redux of the text substitution bug that we saw so
often in previous versions (Darcy can quote chapter and verse on this
one). You should communicate to MacSupport with voluminous detail.
