[Fink-beginners] Update Problem
I'm trying to update Fink. [Fink-beginners] Archived Gimp
For some reason both Gimp and Gimp2 seem to have been archived. When I try to run them in xterm I get a 'command not found' response. What happened? I can't find anything in the FAQs. (I've tried the fetch command but it says it already exists and it's checksum matches). How do I un-archive gimp? Since the initial message asked you to install python, you should try doing that (either from source or binary). All apt-get install or remove operations require you to be root (use sudo), which is why your apt-get -f install operation didn't do anything. [Fink-beginners] gnucash?
I downloaded gnucash (and gnome, apparently) using fink commander but when I type 'gnucash' into either the terminal or X11 window I get a 'command not found' response. When I try to cd over to the sw/bin file in terminal I get a 'permission denied' response. The files are in sw/bin so I know they're in there but how do I get X11 to recognize the gnucash file? I downloaded and installed Scribus because you guys were all talking so highly of it. [Fink-beginners] Can't open applications
Help, I've installed Fink and downloaded two apps: Liliypond and Vorbis, but cannot get them to run on my Mac (Panther). I've looked through all the FAQs and tutorials I can find but still have no idea how to actually open any of these programs either from the desktop or through the terminal. Any suggestions?
