I maintain a fink package for hevea, which needs ocaml to build it.
Can I suggest that you start out by packaging the patched version in
your experimental directory? Then we can both test it out...

I've just done this. It builds on ppc. I haven't really put it through
its paces yet.

It builds on intel, and I was able to use the compiled ocaml to build
hevea on intel, which runs!

Hi Dan,

It built fine with your changes. Yes, it was fink's Perl 5.8.6 that is
present and that confused it (I had included "which perl" at the bottom
of the original message).

I haven't had a chance to test it without that Perl installed because
the computer is running some other updates right now and I didn't think
that it was wise to rebuild fink during a fink build. I will test this
as soon as the current builds are done.

Thanks!
Robert

[Fink-devel] persistent problem with python-2.4 and blt/tkinter in 10.4 branch

2006-03-23 Thread William Scott
Tkinter and blt appear to be problematic on my machine running the
10.4 (non-transitional) branch but not on my machine that has 10.4
transitional.

In short, the following script fails on the former, but runs on the
latter:

http://chemistry.ucsc.edu/~wgscott/temp/helloblt.sh

The error I get when it fails is this:

% ./helloblt.sh

File "/sw/lib/python2.4/lib-tk/Tkinter.py", line 1862, in __init__

_tkinter.TclError: invalid command name "::blt::graph"

On the problematic machine, I have this:

% fink list python24 blt tcltk
