[Fink-devel] _environ and intel, xfce4-session (was fink hanging my Macbook)
Hi Citizens: xfce4-session fails with /usr/bin/ld: Undefined symbols: _environ on my intel iMac g5 but builds ok on my ppc. Both use X11.app and the SDK, and both are complete and intact installs. All the fink libraries it links to on my ppc G5 are also present on my intel iMac. /sw/lib/libxfce4mcs-client.2.dylib /sw/lib/libxfcegui4.3.dylib /sw/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libxfce4util.1.dylib /sw/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libatk-1.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libpangoxft-1.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libpangox-1.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libpangoft2-1.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libpango-1.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libgobject-2.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libgmodule-2.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libglib-2.0.0.dylib /sw/lib/libintl.1.dylib /sw/lib/libiconv.2.dylib I saw a thread fink hanging my Macbook in which this was mentioned but unresolved. See the Fink:Porting Notes page on the fink wiki for technical details of the solution. Just gotta figure out which library is bugged. Hi Robert et al: I just fixed the urls. I took the initiative since I occasionally try to use this program. I left the revision number as it is -- should it be bumped? It needs a maintainer. Hi Robert: I can't speak for those who actually make the decisions, but in this case I don't see why it would be problematic. If you need to update the package, you can submit it to the package tracker (or email it to me, or both). The main thing is to make sure it is current and works.
