Re: [Fink-devel] Giving up on ghc
(CC to everyone who gave me feedback on my last attempt at ghc) Thanks to everyone who tried building my previous attempt at ghc. Based on the problems people found there, there's now a ghc-tiger.info in my experimental[1]. I would appreciate it if people could give it a try. thanks, crh [1] http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/fink/experimental/crhalpin/ pgpryMWclLYBT.pgp Description: PGP signature
Re: [Fink-devel] Giving up on ghc
Good morning. I have a version of ghc in my experimental that works for me on Panther. http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/fink/experimental/crhalpin/ I don't have access to a tiger box, so I can't test it there. If I could get someone else to verify that it works for them on panther, I'll push it to unstable. To do this verification, - download ghc.info, ghc.patch, darcs.info, darcs.patch and put them in your /sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo - fink install ghc 2>&1 | tee ghc.log if this fails, please mail me the ghc.log - fink install darcs 2>&1 | tee darcs.log if this fails, please mail me darcs.log - if nothing fails, celebrate. :-) Then mail me to let me know. If it actually works unmodified on Tiger, that'd be -really- neat. But I don't think it will. regards, crh pgpZJVXPU49QT.pgp Description: PGP signature

I use darcs too much to give up -that- easily. :-) crh pgpGF1FyYG0k1.pgp Description: PGP signature
[Fink-devel] Giving up on ghc
{Cc to everybody who has reported that ghc no longer builds] I'm afraid I find myself unable to get the ghc package to run again after trying for more than a week (why do supposedly "clean" languages always have such dirty builds?), so I've retired it from CVS. I've left my abortive attempt at a 6.4 in my experimental directory. Anybody who would like to get it to work is welcome to try. Presumably the darcs package should be retired, too, as it needs ghc to build. Matthias --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
