Re: [Fink-devel] New Apple's X11

I think you had a valid concern: back in the 10.1 days we had
system-xfree86 and system-xtools because Xtools wasn't exactly the same
as XFree86. Fortunately, Apple didn't do anything odd to the X11 core.

I think a "placeholder" package would be convenient. Has someone began
to do that ? If not, I'll try to do it.

You're about 10 posts behind, Xavier. :-)

Let me take this opportunity to mention one little complication I found
a worked around: Apple's .pkg install doesn't overwrite your existing
.xinitrc (a good thing, I think) so you need to add "exec quartz-wm"
manually to get their WM.

Oops, I didn't realize that system-xfree is here for that purpose, as
said Ben Hines in <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

My mistake, sorry...

[Fink-devel] New Apple's X11

2003-01-07 Thread Xavier HUMBERT
Apple is about to relase a X11 environment for Jaguar. Seems promising,
with tight integration within Aqua.

I think a "placeholder" package would be convenient. Has someone began
to do that ? If not, I'll try to do it.
