Hi guys. What is the current status of the imlib/libpng/gnome problem?
I believe that Masanori has updated some (all?) gnome packages, but did
they get versioned dependencies on things like libpng and imlib? We
need a strategy to make sure that users have a smooth upgrade, and I'm
not sure what the correct strategy is.
Also, I got mail from someone related to a thread on Fink-beginners, and
there were actually two recent problems with gnome: one being a problem
with icons (which is clearly related to imlib/libpng) and the other
having to do with windows being stuck in the upper left corner. Apparently
until a few weeks ago these windows weren't stuck. Anybody have an ideas
about this one?

Subject: Fwd: [Fink-beginners] Gnome windows "locked" at 0,0 & Zombies

Hi, just thought I'd alert you to this in case you hadn't seen it. I
don't know if you saw or remember, but I was the first to point out the
problem with imlib/libpng/gnome in fink-users (I'm not the creep from
that OS X web site). I had two problems that were fixed by downgrading
to the stable version of imlib. 1. No icons or other images in gnome.
2. All windows appeared in the upper left corner over the gnome menu
bar, so that the title-bar doesn't get drawn and the window can't be
dragged. Well, it appears that problem 2 still exists.
You are the one who fixed the imlib/gnome problem, or should I have
sent this to someone else?
Anyways, thanks for the great work you do.
