Builds for me and the included demo script works, so I just uploaded
it to the 10.3 distro. Will maybe take a few hours to propagate to the
selfupdate server mirrors.

You can try it--you'd want to copy the package's .info and .patch file
(if present) from 10.2/unstable/main/finkinfo/sci to
10.3/local/main/finkinfo.

If it works, let us know and somebody can see about adding it to 10.3
(and maybe 10.4).

I tried again now and removed the -lXm that I had added before (don't
remember why I had added this, but there must have been a reason). It
builds now too. Strange.

Sounds good--I'd recommend sending such messages to -devel, mainly
because there is a higher concentration of Fink developers who read
that list, and can actually commit the package once it's ready.

Is it possible either to to call curl from fink with custom options
(such as --proxy-ntlm, -U etc) or solve this issue in another way?

Create a file ~/.curlrc

and put those options in it. They will be passed to curl inside or
outside fink.

There is no configuration option for such custom options, because there
have not been many (any?) requests to have such a feature. Fink
consisting of perl scripts, it is, however, not difficult to customize
it by hand:

You can edit the file /sw/lib/perl5/Fink/NetAccess.pm
There is a line (around line 330)

 $cmd = "curl -f -L";

which you could modify according to your needs. With any new fink
release, this will be overwritten, though.
