These missing perl5XXX-core packages are now available to 10.9

Maintainer has been notified to see if the openmotif3 dependency in
geant4.9 can be upgraded to something that works on 10.9

This has now been fixed.

Thanks for finding these.

Assuming these are all on 10.6 since you don't mention it. This is now
fixed in CVS. It was fixed some time ago in the 10.7 tree but the fix
never made it back to the 10.4 tree until now.

[Fink-users] Invalid sym-links from various GCC packages

Hmm. Maybe it's a case-sensitivity problem.

What do you get from

dpkg -c
/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/binary-darwin-x86_64/languages/gcc48-compiler_4.8.2-1000_darwin-x86_64.deb

| grep fn_imps

I talked to the hdf (v4) maintainer a few weeks ago. He said there were
runtime problems if that package were switched to a newer libpng. We
found some leads to fixing that, but he didn't have time at that time
to work on it. Because it's a static-only library, it's possibly risky
to build "something that uses it" and "it itself" with different
libversions of the same library.

That's possible. You might also try "fink remove gcc48-compiler ; fink

> I believe that's the sort of error one gets when dpkg needs to overwrite a

apparently, dpkg has a problem unpacking
   constructors_destructor_fn_imps.hpp
within directory
  /sw/lib/gcc4.8/include/c++/4.8.2/ext/pb_ds/detail/bin_search_tree_/

yet, i've double checked that
  /sw/lib/gcc4.8/include/c++/4.8.2/ext/pb_ds/detail/bin_search_tree_/
does exist as a directory:
  [spip] ls -ld
lib/gcc4.8/include/c++/4.8.2/ext/pb_ds/detail/bin_search_tree_
  drwxr-xr-x 3 root admin 102 Oct 26 19:15
lib/gcc4.8/include/c++/4.8.2/ext/pb_ds/detail/bin_search_tree_/
and that the only thing it contains is:
  bin_search_tree_.hpp

so i still see no obvious reason for which dpkg cannot create
constructors_destructor_fn_imps.hpp
out of gcc48-compiler_4.8.2-1000_darwin-x86_64.deb and put it in the right
place.
could it be a disc problem?

I believe that's the sort of error one gets when dpkg needs to overwrite
a real file by a directory? Check the path mentioned above starting at
/sw/lib to see if that's the case.

How embarrassing. I'll check, but it requires an updated hdf4-- which will
build with a tweaked info file. It also requires netcdf, which needs to be
fixed.

[Fink-users] emacs under macosx 10.9

Hi!

I tried to install emacs23 under MacOSX 10.9 (Mavericks). The compilation
stops during the build of the 'python27-2.7.5-4'-Package:

gcc -L/sw/lib -bundle
/sw/src/fink.build/python27-2.7.5-4/Python-2.7.5/libpython2.7.dylib

Python build finished, but the necessary bits to build these modules were
not found:
bsddb185 dl imageop
linuxaudiodev nisossaudiodev
spwd sunaudiodevzlib
To find the necessary bits, look in setup.py in detect_modules() for the
module's name.
(Fink package build should have 7 missing)

[Fink-users] fink on OSX 10.9 - upgrading from 10.8 - dependency holes

That, and not being able to install new packages. I'd suggest creating
a new Fink install in a different directory If you need something new --
although we're still in the process of getting things ready so not all
packages build yet.

We are not going to support upgrading Fink in place to 10.9. You will
need to start a new Fink installation. The document
/sw/share/doc/fink/INSTALL has a "Clean Upgrade" section which has some
suggestions to help out.

However, since the 10.9 distribution isn't ready yet, I'd recommend that
you keep your current Fink tree, which is likely still to be functional
other than lacking the ability to update.

Hello,
this morning I upgraded my iMac to OS X 10.9.
I then tried to run "fink selfupdate", but I got the following (too

Kevin,

qt4-base had a similar issue and has a patch for this. If you look at
web/qtwebkit.patch, there's a small patch chunk for wtf/HashTable.h Can
you add that to web/qtwebkit.patch (recalc the MD5) and try building again?

The "No recognized Xcode CLI installed" indicates you need to install the
command line tools. Running "xcode-select --install" should fix things.

I don't think there are any in case of the compiler used. The code is in C++.

[Fink-users] updating gcc48-compiler fails

2013-10-26 Thread jean-francois
hi list,

i got a weird error when trying to update-all - the process failing when
updating gcc48-compiler.
below is a copy of the reported failure when i try to update this specific
package, which i did not manage to fix by myself.
any ideas about how to solve this would be highly appreciated.

the machine is a Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012 MacBookPro running 10.8.5 with
Xcode 5 and corresponding command line tools installed.
the fink version is
  Package manager version: 0.35.2
  Distribution version: selfupdate-rsync Sat Oct 26 12:19:31 2013, 10.8, x86_64
