[Fink-users] Upgraded OS X 10.6.8 iMac to OS X 10.10 and question about Fink

2014-10-20 Thread Doug Wade
I updated my iMac from OS X 10.6.8 to OS X 10.10 and from the Fink web page
read: “We don't support upgrading Fink on 10.8 or earlier to 10.10”.
Before I go any further just wanted to confirm this means install the Apple
developer tools (done), empty the /sw directory and install Fink from scratch.

[Fink-users] Query: Yosemite upgrade path

2014-10-20 Thread Mark Johnson
OK. I waited for Mavericks and I am willing to wait for Yosemite. I’ve read the
messages the last few days, but am unsure what the upgrade path will be for
Yosemite.
(1) Will there be a version of Fink I can install on my current 10.9.5 system -
and THEN upgrade to Yosemite or
(2) will it be a clean Fink install again (like moving to Mavericks) or
(3) will it be something else?
Plus - how will I know when (1) is available - if that is the path….

I really appreciate all that all you do with Fink - and thanks in advance.

10.7, actually. And we eventually closed them out on 10.5 and 10.6.

[Fink-users] Do we still have unstable trees?

2014-10-20 Thread Gary K. Olson
Do we still have unstable trees in 10.10? It seems to me I recall not having
unstable trees anymore since at least 10.9 if not earlier.
