[Fink-users] Problem building gnome-libs-1.4.2

2003-11-23 Thread jthorp
Hi,
I'm trying to build the gimp and have gotten as far as gnome-libs-1.4.2.
I am getting the following error during the install:

-- Installing ./html/libart.html
-- Installing ./html/problems-memory.html
-- Installing ./html/problems.html
-- Installing ./html/sample-display.html
-- Installing ./html/sample.html
-- Installing ./html/x35.html
-- Installing ./html/index.sgml
install: ./html/index.sgml: No such file or directory
make[3]: *** [install-data-local] Error 71
make[2]: *** [install-am] Error 2
make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
### execution of make failed, exit code 2
Failed: installing gnome-libs-1.4.2-5 failed

---

I placed a dummy file index.sgml in the src tree at
/sw/src/gnome-libs-1.4.2-5/gnome-libs-1.4.2/libart_lgpl/doc/html
and manualy did sudo make install which worked but fink isn't aware that
I did that.

Two questions: any idea where the missing file is? Is it not being built
or is it not included in the tarball?

Also:
Is there a way to get fink to continue building after an error without
deleting the src tree and untarring a fresh src. It takes a while to
build when the error is just in copying a file over...

Probably an important file though. Anyone have a pointer as to where I
should look, or what I should do next?

Thanks,
Joshua

Re: [Fink-users] assembler problem? panther 10.3

2003-11-22 Thread jthorp
Thanks Martin,

stigmergy:~ joshuathorp$ as -v
Apple Computer, Inc. version cctools-446.1.obj~1, GNU assembler version 1.38

Any ideas why I would have an old cctools on my fresh laptop and what I
should do to fix?
The laptop came with 10.2 and install disks for 10.3. I did a full
install of 10.3 is there some way to force the proper cctools into place?
Sorry I'm a newby to Apple.

This sounds like you got an assembler problem ;-)
Like what you could get from the Dec2002 assembler.
 What gives as -v?
